You have installed LED's so it is possible your resister got damaged or failed. The behavior your describing sounds like what happens when you install LED lights without or improperly installed resistors.

Scratch this part for sale, I was informed it came off of a 1986 vmax from the place I bought it, he said he pulled it himself. well I just figured out it came from a 1985 FJ100. I didn't even try to mate it up to my vmax. which is a 1998 not sure if it would fit it anyway. So sorry this part...

Yeah some states here in the USA prohibit red lights only if they are flashing. I live in Vegas so no worries here.

Installed the scoop inserts I got from Hijinx1812 they looked even better in my hot little hand! I also back lit them with some high power SMD led's. looks like its breathing fire now!

Its not perfect but way better than stock even after using LED conversion on the stock which was slightly better than the original halogen bulb.
