Yeah, the Boost is there but honestly I didn't notice it when I first started riding her because it just wasn't as dramatic as I had imagined, like a rocket booster coming on... LOL.... I would rather have more power, quieter ride and the stock look....myself.. :D

Thanks for the ideas... I might take a look next time I'm working on the bike... The Boost does seem to work but I know there is a really good chance that little switch means someone did some strange wiring job on the bike... I don't know why it doesn't seem to cycle yet the boost does seem...

I found a new shop that actually has reasonable prices and does a decent job... I'm not equipped to do a teardown so we'll see how these guys do.. The head mechanic is supposed to be very experienced... I have the dreaded 4 into 4 Cobras.... Sound good, I like the crackling roar revving...

Just dumb noob questions here from a new owner... I just took the bike on a 150 mile ride and had lots of chances to open her up here and there... First thing I noticed is the speed limit is too low and the number of cars and trucks is too high... :biglaugh: But I finally am getting in...

Okay thanks guys.... I'll see what I can do with both the peg and possibly the shifter... I always recall the shifter closer to the instep that the tip of my toe....Guy at the shop said the position was "fine" but not for me... :P

Is there an article online for the shift segment? I saw one but the pics were missing.... Is it possible that my lack of leverage is causing this problem? That might explain the tendency for it to go into neutral instead of 2nd... Because the shift lever is positioned about by my big toe...

Very interesting... It sounds like a whole new set of ratios could be done fairly easily... (for you) With a small change on each gear above 1st it should be possible to have the desired last gear ratio without much loss in performance getting there...

Well I developed a new technique for shifting my Max... Not sure exactly how I am doing it but I just started hitting the shifter with a bit more force and determination, kinda like kicking it up with each shift... So far no missed shifts ... Which is good if a bit tough on my ankle...

Thanks for that.... Isn't there any aftermarket part that would be more adjustable, either a shifter setup and/or footpeg... I have to measure my other bike but that shifter feels at least an inch or more closer.... This shifter often feels like it needs a very firm shift to get it into 2nd...

Here's a look at the setup... No way to get the shifter closer to the peg AFAIK... It seems about an inch further away from the peg than my other bike...not helping...

I understand that the rear wheel is supposed to be offset.... I have hear amounts like 1cm? On my new '93 the offset appears to be rather large...although I have not measured it yet... The wear on the rear appears to be clearly way off to the side... The wheels on the bike are 18's and...
