Gen2 weeping from top of differential

My '14 has about 9K miles on it, bought new in '15. I did the 600-mile differential fluid change with the right Yamaha fluid. I followed whatever procedure was posted on starvmax.com at the time. I've periodically noticed a slight weep from the top of the differential, apparently coming from...

What tires are you running on your Gen2?

Shinzo Verges. Anything else is too slippery.

    2001 Vmax 1300 CC $ 4500 Firm !

I’m not up on the gen 1 market, but this seems like a smokin’ deal for someone who appreciates these upgrades.

    Vertical Stand for Gen II

I have a Cycle Cat UCS1 stand that I use for lifting the rear of the Vmax. The stand works such that it goes under the swingarm spools when the bike is on its side, and when you push the lever to lift the bike, it lifts it into the fully-vertical position. Product Review: The UCS1 Cycle Stand...

    Long shot maybe?

I owned two gen 1s. One of them had Racetech gold cartridge emulators, Works shocks, fork brace, solid motor mounts, an 18” rear wheel with radials front and rear, and probably a few other things I’m forgetting. It was noticeably better than the more stockish one I had but not great. My gen 2...

Gen 2 exhaust questions for the collective

I had the Optimal Carbone x pipe with stock mufflers and the Guru tune. It was noticeably louder than stock but not all that loud, really. Decent. But I hated the look of the stock mufflers and came across a like-new Hindle system on the forum. It’s pretty loud (like noticeably more than the...

    Vrod

You be quiet.. I’m still gonna overclock my recently-acquired 10700K at some point. Just on principle. LOL

I removed my listing for sale.

Sorry, I should have clarified--my bike has a Guru tune for the now-removed Optimal Carbone x-pipe. I just haven't sent in my ECU to have the tune updated for the Hindle. It's a little grouchy on startup with the Hindle and I feel like the fueling may be a little off elsewhere in the RPM...

I removed my listing for sale.

My first Vmax had Cobras on it. It was a '98. The baffles had been punched out, so it was LOUD. I installed a switch to make the Vboost kick in at half the RPM of stock. At some point, I lowsided the bike and replaced the Cobras with a set of Jardine slipons. I don't recall there being a...

Help installing V&H exhaust--how to orient the clamps for the rear cylinders?

I found the Brock's Performance 4-1 system installation instructions. Looks like I did some things out of order.. I'll start from scratch and follow these instructions and see if I have any better luck. https://brocksperformance.com/content/Instructions/VMAX/994328.pdf

Help installing V&H exhaust--how to orient the clamps for the rear cylinders?

OH ****, it's a Hindle. LOL Well now I feel like a *******. To be fair, I bought it (here on the forum) and the muffler has been debadged, so I forgot what brand it is.

Help installing V&H exhaust--how to orient the clamps for the rear cylinders?

I got the rear pipes slid into place, and the front pipes loosely fitted as well. The problem I've got now is that the frame mount point for the collector is about 1/3" higher than the mount on the collector itself. I'm not sure how to rectify that. The rear pipes are up as high as they'll...

Help installing V&H exhaust--how to orient the clamps for the rear cylinders?

I "made" a tool like that by cutting off the L part of an allen key, the last time I tinkered with the exhaust. Probably should have just bought the set like you suggested. LOL

Help installing V&H exhaust--how to orient the clamps for the rear cylinders?

I hate the look of the stock mufflers. I would have just gotten a pair of aftermarket mufflers, but it seems like every manufacturer that sells slipons for the Gen2 bundles them with a cat-delete mid-pipe, and the inside diameter of the slipons doesn't match the stock catalytic converter or the...

Help installing V&H exhaust--how to orient the clamps for the rear cylinders?

Alas, that is the manual for the 4-2 slip ons, not the 4-1 "full" system. I haven't been able to find the instructions for the full system. I even got on chat with V&H, who directed me to email some other person at V&H. That person replied asking me for the year of my bike and the type of...

Help installing V&H exhaust--how to orient the clamps for the rear cylinders?

That's the money shot, right there. After orienting the clamps like that, I was able to get the pipes up into place.

Help installing V&H exhaust--how to orient the clamps for the rear cylinders?

I'm installing a Vance and Hines exhaust on my Gen2 and am having a heck of a time figuring out how to orient the clamps for the rear cylinders. It seems like no matter which way I turn them, they either interfere with each other, or I can't get the rear pipes installed because the clamps...

Fuel tank removal for lowering link install

I love when I'm doing a project again and I can't remember how exactly I did it, so I search on Google and I found a post I made about the last time I did the project, and it reminds me what I need to do. Just pulled my shock to have it re-revalved.

What's a revalved OEM Vmax shock worth?

I would be totally fine with $771 shipped.. I would skip the preload adjuster. $959 is my price WITHOUT the remote preload adjuster--that is now a $275 option. I wonder if this is because current exchange rates are less than favorable for the USD. I am strongly considering just sending my...

What's a revalved OEM Vmax shock worth?

A sale would be nice. I got a reply from EMP Wilber, and they quoted the same $959 as Beemershop. I am guessing that the other shops that I emailed will also come back with quotes of $959--probably some price-fixing agreement from Wilbers.
