Here was my DDM Tuning kit. Sorry, I'm not going to take it apart to measure the bulb length, but I assure you it wouldn't fit w/o cutting. Looking at Vmax2Extreme's bulb its obvious it's different. Perhaps DDM changed vendors or maybe the vendor changed the style of bulbs used. Many here...

I bought the 55w Hi/Lo HID setup from DDM and there was NO WAY that bulb would fit w/o cutting out the back of the headlight housing! Maybe you got lucky and got a shorter bulb than what is normally sent:confused2:.

I agree with the above. I would keep the body work intact, everything else is open season. Plenty of spare body parts around if you want different paint.

One thing that always gets me is that the bike looks HUGE, but only weighs about as much as a Gen 1. I really like it and actually would rather have one of those over a Gen 2 V-Max. Off the line I would suppose that the low end torque and weight would give the Gen 2 the advantage.

I figured it out. I removed the airbox and there was enough room to stash the ballast next to the ignition switch. Everything else fit into the space available on the left side.

I would check the bulb size before getting to far into the install. I've read online that the bulbs that come with that kit are very long and may hit the headlight lense in front when installed.

The ballast is pretty small and I would imagine its the 'slim' varient. I don't believe the wire length would allow me to extend it so far.
