Haha!! Yeah right! This global warming is terrible...... 70" of snow in Buffalo last week and it's only November! Just got a fresh inch tonight! It's a "balmy" 29' outside right now. Those poor polar ice caps!
I guess concrete can make metal sweat a bit if there's moisture in the air and the temperatures are right. Some say to prevent flat spots on tires but who knows. Mine is sitting on the center stand so not too much weight sitting on the tires. Extra fuel stabilizer and the battery tender plugged...
I put it away yesterday after a freakish 68' day. It's a sad day to winterize your boat for the season, then it's even sadder when you have to pack your Vmax into hibernation for the winter. That tease of a day is gone and snow is back into the forecast. I envy you retired guys who haul them...
I agree with dash. 300 hp in a bike? Track only? I might use that thing once a year. Cool idea but a bit unrealistic. And it lacks appeal and originality. It looks like an ole zx600 with slicks. Nothing like a stand out vmax!
Brrrr..... That's chilly ridin'! We've been seeing low - to - mid 40 ' s here in NY as well. The max runs great with that cool air but me the rider does not...lol!
I saw that commercial too. He's probably an extra cameraman they threw in there to make it look like he's actually doing something! Probably never been on a motorcycle! ...lol
Tom, where is your new shop going to be? I live, work and play right here in Rochester but have never stopped in. Have heard of some bad ass bikes coming out of your shop but like I said, I've never shopped with ya.
I agree!! New Yorkers are the worst! Not as much over here in western NY but the city definitely ruins the statewide rating. Johnblaid. ...I've always complimented on how nice Texans are. Every damn motorists and pedestrian waved to me like I was their best friend up by the Fort Worth area...
Good thing you are a defensive driver Frank.....never trust anyone to stop when they are supposed to and expect the worst ahead of time before it happens will keep you alive in this society of pathetically bad drivers. Stay safe.
Be sure to check 2nd gear in the old maxes. Transmission trouble was somewhat common with the bike popping into neutral after grabbing second. Was usual with older bikes with about 20k miles or so. Other than that, any year is a winner as long as it wasn't beat hard. Good luck....
Fine choice on getting a new max. I wouldn't worry about the extended warranty. Those things are bulletproof unless you're drag racing or beating on it hardcore. If they are set on their prices, try and work them to throw in the backrest or some oil changes to make the sale work for ya! Worth a...
Maybe it was mentioned on here back when electromagnetic tv signals or broadcast towers were still being used. I joined the site in the digital age! :)
Happened to notice a first generation Max in a HughsNet Internet Commercial while watching the tube this week. Looks like an '85 or '86. Good to see the ole 1st Gens are still getting a few seconds of fame! Too bad the next scene is the gauges of a Virago or something....
HughesNet Gen4 TV...
