I also don't like ABS brakes, but what I hate more is traction/stability control that really doesn't shut off. Today's vehicles has taken the Driver out the equation. With traction & stability control, ABS brakes, accident avoidance systems, self parallel parking system, etc, etc etc...

I have over 35,000 miles on a the front and back chinese rotors with no major issues. To me, they are well worth it. Mike

Pulled the Max out of the corner of the garage and put it on the lift. First, started cleaning it, as I didn't do that when I put it away at the end of last season. Now making a list of the maintenance and upgrades to do this winter. Dawn this thing was dirty. Mike

Well let's see.... Some maintenance is needed now that the bike has 45,000+ miles on it. Rebuild front forks, new bushings, fork oil and oil seals. Change steering stem bearings too. Change brake and clutch fluid and front brake pads. Need to get better lights for the Exactrep headlight...

This almost sounds to good to be true. He wants to trade his rims that fits radial tires for stock rims. Is this a straight up trade? What kind of rims are his? Sounds like a no brainer to me. Trade him your stock rims as fast as you can, before he changes his mind. Mike

Not gonna try to convince you either way on owning a Gen1 Vmax, but can offer the following info. Carbs are not that big a deal if they are maintained properly. Run an additive and high grade fuel before storing and drain the carbs. This way, you will rarely have an issue with gummed up...

Been doing the same thing this weekend. Started gettng both my Vmax and my wife's Radian ready for the off season. Went for a ride to add some seafoam and fill the tank. Changed the oil and oil filters in both bikes. That's as far as I got for today. Mike
