    I've been sitting around thinking why is it they didn't put a fuel gauge on the VMAX does anyone have the answer, now I'm not sure about all of the years but I know my 85 and the first gens don't have one, why Yamaha why.

    if you look on the jet block where the o-ring sits is beveled inward a little bit so the o-ring is made to fit inside that

    So do you think that's true that these motors on the first gen don't reach max power until they hit maybe 50,000 miles, I'm just saying because mine has 4800 on it for an 85, yes that's right 4800

    I got one more question guys is there a way to get the float seat out seems like it's pressed in or do I really even need to change them also under the jet block is an o-ring does that o-ring go under the gasket or does it go between the gasket and jet block

    Good morning guys my 85 was only 5,000 miles is all original and stock, it's set for a couple of months and it won't idle at all , it pops out the exhaust and as soon as I come to a stop it dies seems like the choke is on all the time but it's not, I'm going to take the carbs and go through them...

    I'm not a CV carburetor expert so educate me guys I put on some shorter stage 7 diaphragm springs and it seems to be running a lot more smoother better and more power why is that, was I too rich

    Well I tightened a few things cleaned a few things and everything seems to be good now no more issues, I think I had two different problems probably from sitting a starter solenoid that was stuck and maybe I just had a bunch of crap in the carburetor for sitting a few months it is all original...

    I agree with you on the starter turn signal relay but that doesn't explain why it bogs down and dies almost like something is electrically shorting out
