I'd like to get rid of the sluggish steering on my 'Max. Rather than lowering the front 1/4" - 1/2" I'd like to raise the rear with new shocks to 13.5" (.5" over stock). Dropping the front will cause things to touch down sooner & would rather gain some cornering clearance at the same time...

I have an '85. Just bought it Thursday. I've wanted one since Highschool (late 80's). I've come off of sportbikes & one cruiser (Susuki vs1400). So far I love the 'Max. It doesn't seem to pull as well as I thought it would but I've had 1000cc sportbikes so maybe I'm spoiled. There's no "spike"...
