    PCW Camshafts???

Thank you. So it seems that those cams are worth approx. 5-7 RWHP or so- which is a pretty significant gain of 5% for just those, port job not-with-standing. Would you be able to use 93 octane pump fuel with 12.5 CR? I wonder what the DCR ended up being in your engine with the 10.5 SCR...

    PCW Camshafts???

And..........?????? Details?????!!!!????? Just saying "I have this" without providing details pertinent to the discussion that we'd all like to know, gives us nothing, nor means anything... I see from your garage that you have "Stage 3" cams... What are those? What are they based from...

    PCW Camshafts???

I never thought of any mass produced parts, but I'd guess anyone can use the grinds I come up with by simply calling Megacycle (or whomever) to order yours- if they work... LOL!

    Vmax Custom Short Tail

Got a quick reply from them... I'll be getting a set for myself- thanks for the tip!

    PCW Camshafts???

No worries. ;) I can understand why most of these cam manufacturers are running such a tight intake LSA, which promotes low-to-mid range torque; but I don't understand why they would use that single pattern grind for both the intake *and* the exhaust? If the exhaust cam lobes were a bit...

    Buying Marks performance exhaust

Yes, it was Mark... No worries though, I'll contact Dale Walker instead- besides, I prefer his stainless steel system w/ the polished alum. 12" cans anyway and I can always add a cross-over pipe between banks for the mellow sound.

    Buying Marks performance exhaust

Still haven't heard anything from anyone there.... Customer service (i.e. answering emails, phones, etc.)must not be a top priority for him I guess.

    PCW Camshafts???

Also... It seems as if the PCW "03" cams are just a tick bigger than the Magacycle "274-00" grind I'm interested in. I wonder if PCW has M.C. grind their cams for them? I'd like to sqeeze as much realistic lift into this thing as I can, just short of having to modify retainers, seals, guides...

    PCW Camshafts???

Thanks, but those sparse specs are not fully disclosing valve events, LSA, lobe advance, lobe ramps, etc, and that information is very important to me when I'm trying to figure DCR. I'll just post up the factory figures I get when I get these cams rolled.

Gotcha and thanks for the clarification. :)

2000 Vmax- Kerker exhaust, k & n filter, stage 1 dj jet kit.

DJDrPhil~ Something doesn't seem right with your combination, nor is it making the power it should... What is the altitude where the dyno is located? Here is a copy of my bike's dyno report for a comparison and we are at 790 ft. altitude here. http://www.vmaxforum.net/showthread.php?t=1874...

    PCW Camshafts???

Good point and to be honest, I forgot about them... In fact, I used to have a set of their cams in my old '85 back when I was in College and that thing ran!! I think I'll go with Magacycle, since PCW parts are Magacycle parts and build it up from there. I do have an extra set of stock cams in...

    PCW Camshafts???

I'm not interested in getting an engine from them, so no worries there- only the parts, so we can do the work here in our shop; as we have flow-benches, an in-house machine shop, dyno, etc. I haven't called them yet, I was just trying to get a feel for them from others who have used them in...

    PCW Camshafts???

I'm doing a top-end upgrade on my '95 using ported cylinder heads, Cometic head gaskets, new Yamaha cam chains, new cam chain tensioner, PCW valve springs, PCW "03"cams, titanium valve spring retainers and stainless steel valves, etc. I've done a lot of online research lately about all of this...

    Buying Marks performance exhaust

I think I'd like the polished aluminum cans that exit in the same location as the stockers (by the axle shaft) to keep everything looking in proportion/symmetry. That looks like either a 12" or 14", depending on where the inlet attaches to the lead pipe of his exhaust systems. Based on the vid...

    No 2008 VMax now!! Post-poned until 2009!

Well, I haven't been to the site for quite awhile (working as usual) and I was the person that started this thread way-back-when. I must say that I was very disappointed and let down to see on the lack of perceived progress this "new bike" is getting from Yamaha, as everyone has been waiting...

    Buying Marks performance exhaust

I hope he gets back to me before that...geeez! I'm interested in the stainless steel 4-2 version and I want the pipes and cans polished. I just don't know what can configuration options he offers, as I'd just buy everything from him all at once.

    Buying Marks performance exhaust

Hi Guys~ It's been a while since I've been around here, but as always, it's nice to see what's going on w/ the Max. I've been looking around for an exhaust system myself and it seems that everyone is happy w/ Mark's products, so I just sent him an email to inquire. His website is pretty...

    Kz 1000 Ltd

Awesome bike and an even more awesome engine for it's time. I had one of those in my early years and that thing went 7.14's in the eighth with only a set of HP cams, extended swingarm, Schnitz header, ported head, MRE air shifter and a drag slick. Crank up the compression to at least 11.1 from...
