How to get the fake tank "lid" open.

On the few that I have opened, it helps to push down on the rear of the faux tank, turn the key, and release the cover. Mine is pretty particular about it.

    Damn garage door spring!

If it's soaked up a bunch of water or latex paint over the years, you'd be better off with the shorter spring, but yes, just wind the longer one a bit more and it should be fine. You could also get one of each and come out about the same as what you have now. Either way, you'll only be off by...

    Damn garage door spring!

Looks like online will be cheaper than me. $80 a pair isn't bad. They must buy them in bigger bulk and get a better deal.

    watched a great race today.

Even the 250's were fast. My neighbor has the only 900 I've seen in fifteen years. Cool bikes.

    Damn garage door spring!

They're green. Sounds like a 16x7 wood door. Let me check my cost tomorrow, and I'll let you know as soon as I get home.

    Damn garage door spring!

That sounds about right. I charge 180. Plus a little for off-hours. Just be careful about who shows up. Some are crooks and want to get you with the new rollers, drums, hinges, lifetime springs... it ends up being 800 or more when they're through with you (Initials are PDS btw) Liability is...

    Damn garage door spring!

Wait until you get the new springs in before taking it apart. In the meantime, get a cable clamp (about 3/8") and clamp the broken spring back together. Wind it back up and use the door as normal. It will usually last for a week or two before the spring breaks somewhere else. and change both...

    Damn garage door spring!

If I was closer I'd swap 'em for ya. It takes me about fifteen minutes. Of course I've been doing it for 20 years. If you plan on doing it yourself, follow trutex's advice and be very careful. Any questions... hit me up.

4 day cruise around Western Arkansas

You don't have to take the freeway to LR. There's always 7 to north of Russellville, across to 123, catch 16 east, and down 65 to Conway and catch 300 from just south of Toad Suck. But if you were planning on crossing Petit jean at Morilton, you could always just catch 300 and enjoy some turns...

    Troubleshooting Charging System

Your battery shouldn't drop to 11 volts. It could be... bad ground on the rectifier bad battery the splice under the seat. http://vmax.lvlhead.com/tips/splice.htm or in my case the rectifier itself plus a dirty starter.

    Concealed Carry Weapons, Firearm

He made these bullets himself for the sole purpose of killing! Na, I think I'll stick with the hydroshocks and leave the reloads for plinking around.

Interest to Request a Firearm Section????

I'm about as pro gun as you can get, and I have no interest in a specific section devoted to firearms. Leave it in the burn out pit for the time being and pay attention. Guns come up every few months or so, but I don't think the subject has enough traffic here to warrant a sub-forum.

    Brake Discs non VMAX

That can be caused by all kinds of things like heat or even over torquing the lug nuts. No rotors are perfectly flat, but you may think about having them turned if it bothers you too much. Like said, let them seat and if it still bothers you cut the rotors.

    Concealed Carry Weapons, Firearm

Unless it's somewhere that is not legal to do so, I'm carrying a RIA 1911 Officer. Either in a galco IWB holster or hanging by the "clipdraw". No boo's or hisses for my little RIA please. I've put thousands of rounds through it, and it has never hiccuped. I don't trust my .38 wheel gun as much...

Am i crazy or maybe not ?

I'm with you dude! Mine's sitting in the front room with 2nd gear gone, and you couldn't pry it from my hands. She's mine and I waited a long time to get her. I've sold my LUV truck with a 400 small block, my 4X4 Monte Carlo, and my 1911 commander for more than they were worth. As it turns...

    I`m stumped and need help

Your start switch is just a contact to ground. Check the hot wire to the solenoid for a short. Edit: NM I was thinking of my seca. I don't know if the start button is direct ground on the Max or not.

metz 170 - WHO had to do a washer swap?

Just a reminder... When a tire is at rest it's the fattest that it will get. As acceleration increases, centrifugal force takes over and makes the tire a little more narrow and a little taller. If your metz isn't touching the swingarm at rest, it won't touch while in motion.
