I got the electric fan to turn on yesterday when it heat soaked from stopping at the gas station. It made awful noises, which means that I'll be taking it apart to clean, or replace.

It didn't. I was wondering if maybe my fan was dead. But I remember that it has turned on once before.

So.. question - how hot does your bike get? I was riding around today in 90ish. The temp gauge went up quite a bit more than it normally does. Just wondering where it should normally sit for you guys. It was closer to the red than I liked.

I'd do the diode mod in the gauge unit. No resistor for me, and I'm not having any issue.. and it fixes the voltage leak from the signal turn gauge bulb. I can swap incandescent and LED turn signals lights without ever having to worry about resistors again.
