    Passing on the info

For those looking for a 240 rear wheel, I just posted a link to a factory 240 rear in the random items for sale section. I have no affiliation with the seller and know nothing about the wheel.

New member intro and first problems:(

Why not use a cooling system pressure tester? If you remove the right hand scoop, the radiator cap is right there. The cap is basically the same as an older Honda car (1990 Honda Civic, etc.) so that same cooling system tester adapter should work on the Vmax. This way you could pressurize the...

    Airbox question

If you are talking about the rear duct/cover that wraps around the air box and doubles as part of the air filter retainer, there really isn't much advantage to do it. You can actually completely remove the cover and replace it with a bracket that holds the top of the air filter in against the...

    Buying Gen2 Vmax advice

That 09 has the tell tail signs of a bike that has been wrecked. That exhaust pipe cover is ground down... NOT scratched. I guess it's possible but has anyone else ever heard of a crank sensor going bad on a 2nd gen?.... and oh, it still runs 100%.... Its obviously been abused, and not in a good...

    Nitrous kit

Eric, check out Dyno Tune. They sell N2o kits and parts. I bought my Co2 air shifter kit from them. Also, for general nitrous oxide info check out Burgerman's build your own Car & Motorcycle Nitrous Oxide Injection Systems.

    What is this?

The roll-over valve is under the same side cover. The vent hose from the filler neck connects to one end and the other end connects to that metal canister (on CA bikes) or the other end is vented to atmosphere. The purpose of the valve is to prevent gas from draining out of the vent in the event...

    What is this?

You are correct. The metal canister is for the california emissions. It won't have any impact on the performance of the bike if removed...... strictly for off road/racing purposes only of course. Just don't remove the small roll-over valve.

    First Service!

I have been using the K&N filter and Rotella T-6 in my 2014 for a while now with no clutch issues. I actually use it in everything I own. It is an excellent oil designed to be used in engines that operate under extreme load and temperature conditions. For the final drive I have used the Amsoil...

    Hybrid rear wheel - the VR1 17 x 6"

Hey bud. Yeah I still have the stock rear but I'm keeping it for now. If I ever loose my mind and sell my max the new owner will have a huge lot of pristine stock parts so they can turn it back to factory stock or keep it the way it is. BTW, how ya been?

done what I said I wouldnt

Hey, it's your bike, your money, your hands on the grips and your ass on the the seat. Do what makes YOU happy and enjoy the crap out of that beast.

    Plugs

They are iridium plugs. I won't be thinking about it until around 50k miles.... I'm just over 20K now.

    TT Air box mod

Just a couple of things to keep in mind when you attack this project. These filters come coated with oil when new. When you are ready to bond them to the filter box, make sure you clean the surface around the edge of the filter and opening in the air box you will be applying the "Right Stuff"...

    Hybrid rear wheel - the VR1 17 x 6"

As always, really nice looking work Mike. It's too bad getting a different final drive gear set is so difficult and expensive to get done. I bet it was fun flogging that Harley, but it's nice to see you back on the Max again.

    Star Vmax forum

THIS..... That site, with all it's wealth of info was riddled with problems. If the transfer of info is possible, I think there is greater chance of growth and stability here.

    Tires

Stock size, it's hard to beat the Shinko 011 Verge front and rear. I run the rear Shinko at about 30 PSI and have had very good results. It warms up quickly and hooks up well. If you can resist the urge to do too many burnouts, it also gives pretty good mileage, all at a good price. If running...

    Mirriors

I have had these bar end mirrors for a year or two. They are rock solid, no vibration at any RPM, and I can't remember how many times I have bumped into them in the garage....I have never had to readjust them. Just use a little blue loctight when you finalize the position. They can be mounted 2...
