    FYI.....

Kudos. I crashed that group hug opening night with the VMax, then returned to the scene of the crime the next night on my Harley (100th Anniversary V-Rod). While the V-Rod, as a V-Twin (despite liquid cooling and some Porsche collaboration) fit OK with the pack, the VMax turned more heads than...

NEED TIPS ON proper placement of faux tank logos

Concur. That's just my OCD at work with the trim pieces. Carbs are A-OK (knock on wood)!

NEED TIPS ON proper placement of faux tank logos

Indeed. The poster shows it rotated somewhat clockwise, hence the question. Here's a closer look at the poster:

NEED TIPS ON proper placement of faux tank logos

Please allow me to clarify, as I've omitted a crucial piece of information. I'm again, looking at the picture on my wall, which I've zoomed in on to show that the logo is rotated to point to around 12:30/6:30. That's why I found it to be questionable as a reference, since I've never seen that...

NEED TIPS ON proper placement of faux tank logos

Thanks, this is a huge help. The consensus seems to be that the middle fork should align with the edge of the "H" on the port side, and the "Y" on starboard. And obviously, straight up and down. Some of them show it a bit differently, like the red one from BaT (above), but hey, at least it's on...

NEED TIPS ON proper placement of faux tank logos

Ah, I see you have "KSO", or a "keen sense of the obvious." I checked that poster first and foremost, but there the logos look too far forward and it doesn't jibe with the factory placement on the other '85's I've seen, so I'm guessing it's a shot of a prototype. (If you look at the poster...

NEED TIPS ON proper placement of faux tank logos

I'm having my tank cover repainted and want to ensure proper placement of the Yamaha logos. Here, they are improperly positioned; in addition to being rotated too far forward, they also appear to be placed too far back. If the middle "tuning fork" should be straight up and down (like 6 o'clock)...

ISO 1985 Deep Amethyst color code

Thanks, I found the "tank" emblems on fiche, in stock and available. The countour is important; I didn't think flat (but raised) logos would fit that curved edge quite right. https://www.yamahapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/yam/50042687f8700209bc788614/side-cover

ISO 1985 Deep Amethyst color code

Hello, I'm wrapping up the year-long restoration of my 1985 1200 in original Dark Amethyst. I've come a long way with this bike; at first, I really didn't like the color and considered switching to Deep Scarlet. I figured the pinstripes killed the originality anyway. I also bought a set of...

Do you have the model # for the Ducati bars, or a way to source them? Thanks.

    handle bar choices

I am looking for stock VMax handlebars to put on my '86 Fazer. Any leads? Thanks.

What grips will work on 1st Gen?

yes, I trust (as OEM) they are longer on the throttle side to resolve the "gap" issue, correct? Feel free to DM me. Thanks!

What grips will work on 1st Gen?

Thanks for the reply. The shop is telling me that I really should get a set of asymmetric grips that is longer on the throttle side to avoid a gap. They have been unable to locate a set like that. Do the d three grips come in that configuration, and if not, how much for the used OEM grips...

What grips will work on 1st Gen?

Hello, I searched past threads for grips recommendations for 1st Gen, 1985 in particular. I saw many mentions of Kuryakyn, but I couldn't locate any that were specifically longer on the "throttle" side. Any recommendations? OEM is hard to find. Thanks.

    Choosing my first

Congrats on the Fazer. I have an '86, and after getting off the VMax (or my VRod, even more so), the Fazer feels like it's infinitely smaller, lighter, and more maneuverable. Don't get me wrong; I love my big V's, but the Fazer is often pure joy with significantly less effort. I wouldn't...
