Rusty, After I polish aluminum to the white compound, I use Mothers aluminum polish, then Turtle wax Ice. So far after 2 years on some parts, I haven't had to recoat. On the Magna that I have (I polished all aluminum), I only went as far as the Mothers and no oxidation to date for some reason...
