I think MAP sensor works, how do I check that? I got laptop hooked to bike today and atleast those bars (IAP / TPS) go like they did last season.
My plugs looked looked like this after about 50 miles, I got .30 shims at a time and as I got down to .20 shims there was no black stuff on electrode...
Again problems here, bike feels sluggish time to time almost like missing one cylinder? Carbs should be OK, cleaned and no broken parts found, synced etc and I got spark on every cylinder, I'm losing my head with this one! Going to take it to local stealership if can't get it run like it...
Have to say, that when I was on my first rides with my max it first scared me half death with oil-light in hard acceleration (that is normal, tells you that your boost is working..) and then it died on the side of the road.. I thought that I had just blown my savings for nothing, and then I...
I changed rear tire and had bumping front end ever since at around 40mph. Shop didn't find nothing wrong with rear or front wheels (balanced etc), I have had a minor leak at fork seals for a while now (leaves just a barely noticeable rings to fork tubes) but I believe oil levels are down in...
Well, you knew the clutch is new, nobody else didnt. Things like that should be mentioned, before start asking about others education level, no matter how many million miles you have ridden.
All I can think of is first poster bashing in some poor motorcycle shop, when dude behind desk has proposed that issue is very certainly just worn-out clutch, nothing serious.. And then, BOOOM MOTHAF**A!!!
Clutch slippage is most noticeable at higher gears, I only noticed it at 5th gear when I slammed it from 100-110kph. If you have something wrong with your gears, you would be having hard time shifting, lots of neutrals, funny noises and probably metal bits etc. in oil.
I'd say ride it, and when...
Sure it isn't clutch slipping? Try fifth gear, keep it steady about 3,5-4k and then accelerate hard, if it slips it will slip, especially at the point when vboost starts to open.
Definitely newer brake discs, older maxes has same disc front and back, non floating. Contact Sean at Morleys Muscle, he can fix you right up! His email is [email protected]
I have probrake discs on mine, european manufacturer.
I bought these http://m.ebay.com/itm/320968777801?nav=SEARCH
Very clear and sturdy mirrors, I've had two different and cheaper bar end mirrors before and I wish I've bought these in the first place. Very good mirrors, great bang for the buck!
I got a lot popping with cracked boots between carbs and intakes, I couldn't find leaks with starter spray but changed boots and it helped. If they look cracked, I'd say that change them.
First I had huge fever for Gen-II, but then I saw Diavel at the dealer and yeah, it definetely looks frikkin' awesome.. Anyone happen to have Diavel? It would be nice to hear how it has been.
Gen-II would be better as touring bike and 2-up riding I believe, and there isn't that constant...
Is the noise more obvious, if you try to listen from beginning of exhaust? I mean cylinder end. I have same kind of ticking noise when motor is hot, might be too much valve clearance I'm checking it today.
It was too much valve clearance in my case, I had adjusted them so that feeler went in...
I got about 8k (kilometers) and my rear tire was worn to fabrics. Front tire is still good, even though my bike has bouncing / tremor issues at low speeds, might be because of that old tire.
I had Metz 880 and it was slippery in cold and wet conditions, I was told that its because its steel braiced or something like that, and it needs to be warm/hot so it sticks. Now I have Michelin Commander II, this was advertised as more modern type of tyre, I haven't been in rain with it yet but...
