PierceW. I would recommend Marks Exhaust for the sound you're looking for. He will make the cans as loud or as mellow as you want by varying the length and diameter of the discharge size.

I have been looking into the FZ-09 as a first bike for my son. I sat on one the other day and it felt good. Anyone else have any thoughts on this machine? From what I'm reading, I think it would be a good starter bike and fun and I could easily talk my kid into letting me ride it.

Welcome aboard Sarge, the Vmax regardless of generation, is just a great bike. I have owned 10 different bikes over the course of my life and the Vmax has been the funnest one of all. I wish you many days of safe and happy riding.

I will do that Patmax. I think I am going to try PlanetVmax in hopes that they deliver good. The place has a got a bad rap over the years, but if their stuff is good, then I see no reason not to give them some good PR and help their business out.

Right now, I'm seeing the Shinko Verge in the 200 size for around 135.00 shipped, 4500-5000 miles sounds like a good value to me.
