I use my phone in a wireless charging cradle. Works for me.

Just move to a higher elevation, that should lean it out some and get rid of the popping.

On my first bike, a Suzuki intruder 1400 I bought well used, I noticed a small oil leak that seemed to be originating from the center of one of the engine covers. Imagine my surprise when my finger poked straight through the cover with minimal pressure! Someone had used jb weld to plug a quarter...

Are you sure everything was hooked up correctly during install? Beyond that I'm not sure what it could be. Hopefully some wiser max heads will chime in

Did you charge the new battery completely? I swapped to a shorai lithium when the battery went out on mine. I've been happy with it so far after about 5k miles.

Oh and if you are pulling the bar off anyway, look into Sean Morley's rear reflector led replacement option, I love mine.

Had that happen crossing Nevada, I coasted in on fumes 20 something miles later to a rest stop, I was sweating and not from the heat.

Mine is a 98, and she has been wonderful. I put 3k miles on her in a week this summer and she didn't blink. Drag raced the rest of the group and she stomped them soundly. I'm at 22k miles and I've just picked up some custom bits for her. I'll be riding her till she croaks or I do. Just do it.
