    The dangers of linseed oil

Yup. I was warned for this exact scenario years ago when I took care of my aged rifle stock. Ended up soaking the rags in water, put them in a sealed plastic bag en threw them in the outside bin. 😁

    Can't sync the carbs...

Thanks for the tip. Should be ok. I'm the kind of guy that actually uses the Haynes manual or (veryfied) walkthrough procedures from forum members. 😅

I'll proceed with the cooling system flush first. I didn't do that the last time when I renewed the coolant. Don't know if it's ever done by the previous owner.

They are. I only put 50 km on them before I started the whole endeavour with the synchronization of the carbs. Yesterday I put another 400 km on them.

    Garage exhaust ventilation system

My thoughts exactly, so I would mount it to the wall and put a chimney through the flat bitumen roof.

    Garage exhaust ventilation system

My "garage" is inside my house and the Mrs doesn't appreciate the smell. 👀 😅

    Can't sync the carbs...

As said, I went for a long ride yesterday. A/F settings: 2 3/4 on all carbs. I noticed very quickly that the bike was running hotter than it did before. Rode it all the same, because I had to and the oil temperature* didn't ever exceed 120 degrees Celsius. For about 80% of the time it ran...

    Garage exhaust ventilation system

I was thinking about buying and installing an exhaust ventilation system in my garage, so I don't have to move the bike outside whenever I need to start the bike and / or let it reach operating temperature. Those systems though... will cost you an arm & leg, your left kidney and your right...

Number of caliper pistons doesn't matter.

Or... And with all due respect... Just ask the practical questions when you can't figure out what to do with "problem X" on your Vmax, instead of all this f#ckin' diarrhea you dump on this beautiful forum. 🤝

    Can't sync the carbs...

I'll do that. First I have to go for a 120 mile ride to Hyperpro on Wednesday. (240 total) After that, I can inspect the newly placed sparkplugs which I have set to 0,7 mm because of the COP's modification I did 3 years ago. I am and have been running 2 3/4 on all four A/F screws. Normally...

    Can't sync the carbs...

If only you knew... I'm a 45 year old guy with ADHD. Normally I couldn't set myself to do anything, just because of the simple fact that I can't concentrate. But with the Vmax.. I tend to go into a state of "hyperfocus" (because of the meds). My wife and kids only saw me running around the...

    Can't sync the carbs...

I've been busy.... Put on the airbox. Set idle speed screw close to "nothing". Started the bike with ful choke. Let it warm up a little bit and played wit the choke and idle speed. When it finally didn't die anymore when decreasing (and ultimately killing) the choke, I started a very...
