What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

OK. No need for the picture. I know the one and I saw no wear on it. I'll check the volyage while cranking and go from there. Thank You Kyle....

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Will do and could you send me a picture of that gear, please. I'm looking at diagrams of the starter clutch but not sure which gear you're talking about. If it's the largest gear shown, I checked and saw no wear. Thank You

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Okayyyy... The starter clutch clattering is back and getting back to it's normal noisy starts. New Starter Clutch installed, 2nd time. This time swapped out the 2 small shafts and sprockets too. New bolts torqued and peened. Starter itself had been changed also. Battery shows good and stays fine...

    Old fart's work out.

I can remember doing one pullup years ago. Pulled my butt back on board my Trawler after falling overboard. But that was a necessity. HE HE he he.

    Old fart's work out.

I agree. Now would be hell, to try and do 10 yard dash. Worked my A$$ off for ungrateful bosses for many years. Mega hours on land jobs. Mega days at sea on Trawlers. I can still hold my own and I'm not ready to call myself an Ole' Fart, unless playing. (70 years old and starting to feel those...

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

I just finished the Starter Clutch swap and all is good now. This time I replaced the bolts for new ones and changed out the little shafts and small sprockets. The sprockets and shafts were from an later model. The only thing I noticed was that one of the Clutch bolts was bad, I Had not changed...

    Tires to old?

They start giving me any trouble over here, I'll just tie a 20ft electric cord to the spare in the trunk and drag it behind the car, like if I left the charging station to quickly. Some of the small town cops around here aren't the brightest....

    Tires to old?

Traded a 1982 GL1100 for it. I had $2,300 invested in it when I was done with it.

    Tires to old?

When I bought my (Barn Find..:( ) 85 vmax earlier in the year, the owner told me the tires were still brand new. Didn't think nothing of it. They looked good from 6ft up. When I got it home and started to dissect it, I noticed small cracks all over them. Went to google and it told me how to date...
