Not going to put knobbies on the vmax and go for it LOL some of the new dual sport or adventure bikes weigh about what the vmax does.

New main jets, mine are making the bike run too rich and getting horrible gas mileage.

I was having a lot of trouble with varnish in my pontoon boat motor. But now I take the gas line off at the engine and run it out completely. Has worked wonders. Not so easy to do on a V max though.

Sean sold me some brake pads for my rear brake and send me some instructions and I put brake pads in for the first time. Went pretty well. the thing that gave me the hardest time was getting the rubber cover locked back in. New brakes work great!

didn't see a heat shield. think the riders right foot would be toasted

Glad to hear about the manufacture date. I do not put a lot of miles on each year and have plenty of sun to hammer the rubber so I would hate to get older tires and end up with dry rot but lots of tread left. They shipped my tires the next day. Cannot beat that.
