    New York Times Vmax article

    My '08 Civic reads spot on to my gps. An '03 Lincoln my dad owns reads about 3-4 mph faster than my gps. I should attach my gps to my max and see what shes reading now that I have Carro wheels on it. Fwiw-I went out for a spin on the max and it shows 4-5 mph faster on the speedo than my gps...

    Marks Pipes on a '06

    Chris I have 12" with 2 1/2 outlets and it growls...alot! My guess is even with the extra 2" it will still be almost as loud as the 12's.

    Unfortunately most bike mechanics that work for dealers dont get paid squat! That then leads to the "I dont give a ****" syndrome. And that is exactly why mine will never see anyone but me turn a wrench on it.

    I sat on one at a dealer when I was getting new tires mounted and I do like the overall look and feel of the bike. Too bad its underpowered. :rofl_200:

    I have Marks SS pipes with 12" cans and 2 1/2" outlets. They have a nice low rumble and growl pretty good when opened up. They aren't "too" loud when cruising which is nice. I have a side shot in the gallery if you want to see them.

    is there an easy way to drain the clutch line?

    I have heard that the DOT5 wont eat paint but what happens if there is a little 3 or 4 left in the system when you add DOT5?

    Assuming the guy wasn't trying to hide a flaw in the bike by not wanting to start it or install a thermostat, I'd say it has been well taken care of. Being that anal about it I would guess the bike has been pampered and probably well taken care of. Still no excuse for not wanting to let you hear...

    I personally haven't heard of anyone having gear failure on a Max unless of course they ran it dry for some reason. The primary failure point seems to be the input nut/shaft shearing off which has no connection with how much or what kind of oil is used in the diff. The key here is to make sure...

    Other than the obnoxious sound this proves that 200hp on the ground should be obtainable with a pipe and ecu change I would think.
