    Ride an 09 in Arkansas

Re: Ride an 09 in Arkansa Wasn't he talking about the bike? :rofl_200:

    Interesting quote from MCN

How about inverted forks? I like how they rate ride&handling and equipment at 3 stars but have nothing but high praise for them.

Oil Poll - tell us what you're using!

Castrol GTX 20w50 dino. Just keeping it changed regularly far outweighs what brand you use imho.

someone on here can answer this problem

When did OldMan join the forum? :rofl_200:

    Ran the $0.25

You might try running 87-89 octane pump gas next time. Can't see any reason why you would need that kind of octane and you might be quicker without it. :confused2:

    6th gear?

As an example I have an older thunderbird that used to get a solid 24 mpg on the highway doing 75mph back and forth to work daily. The overdrive went out which upped my rpm's by about 700. The car still gets 22-23 on average. I realize were talking about a car versus a motorcycle but the...

    6th gear?

I wouldn't worry about the cruising rpm too much, the Max will purr right along at 4-4.5k all day long without complaint. The only options that I'm aware of are a venture rear, 5th gear ratio change and a taller wheel/tire combo. The guys with the big cc engines have found it beneficial to use...

    Fuel mileage

I still have the stock 152's installed. Going to drop some new plugs in soon and check the color then maybe put the 150's in and see how that looks. I couldn't believe I got 44 mpg today riding 2 up with my daughter...then again she's the reason I didn't get crazy. ;)

    Fuel mileage

I used to get right at 40mpg doing mostly highway with no vboost takeoffs. After going through my carbs, cleaning and adjusting the floats I now get 44mpg driving the same way. One thing I have noticed is that if I throw even a few vboost actuations in there I will get around 35mpg. So in my...

    17/18in wheel advice

If you buy wheels already made/altered for a Max then they are generally a bolt on and go deal. There are some services that alter the stock wheels with which you might be required to send yours in as a core. As an example, you can get the 18" Carrozzeria wheels for around 1500.00-1700.00 then...

    More grunt wanted...but how?

I don't mean to hijack the mans thread but I too have been eyeballing some more ponies. I would like to see somewhere around 160/100 at the rear myself, I'd like to think its doable without compromising daily reliability and drivability. I like the idea of the 1428, anyone have the specs of a...

    Speedometer is ugly/dirty

Mine has a foggy looking haze at the top as well. I've never washed mine with anything but a garden hose. Mine appeared after using some sort of window cleaner on the tach trying to remove some bugs. Not sure how that got in but it appears that it did. It's beginning to sound like it will stay...

    9.43@142mph!!!!!!!

I could be wrong but I'd guess someone is in the process of buying a new Max and took offense to my estimations? :confused2:

    Different cans on Mark's exhaust???

I know he will customize the them to fit his exhaust but thats generally when he builds a new system if you send him the cans. He may do so in your case if you send them to him but I can't say for sure. As long as the ID/OD matches up with your new cans and you are using the strap attachment...

    9.43@142mph!!!!!!!

To be honest I expect the Gen2 Hayabusa to be slightly faster than the new Max stock for stock. Most of those are running high nines with a skilled rider. Consider the Busa is lighter, chain driven, has better aerodynamics, same hp and is only 10-15 ftlbs of torque shy of the Max. I want the new...

    anyone use one of these?

One things for sure, you won't run out of tach on that thing! :biglaugh: Nice looking unit though.

    Cajones: Big! Brain: Small!

I agree with M-Cman that eventually something is going to happen to affect all motorcycle riders due to dingdongs like that. Whether that be driving laws specific to motorcycles, insurance issues or possibly extreme restrictions on the bikes themselves who knows.

    Pissed Off

Holy crap batman! I have a set being polished for me as we speak (I hope they are that far along anyway). I just saw this post, read it and started to panic. Thats alot of cash I dropped for what I thought was going to be unsafe junk. I have enough trouble without help! :biglaugh: At any rate...
