I think they are all in working order. No cracks all the way thru. Need to replace that missing band clip tho.
Something like this shouldn't be causing my level of issues I wouldn't think. Im putting fresh plugs in it this weekend to determine which are missing. As I said in the first post if...
Thats correct. I installed them accordingly
hmm I found a missing clamp on the carb boot also. didn't think much of it, but I guess there could be unregulated air coming in there.
I saw on this other thread that a tight exhaust could be causing an issue. I know I have an exhaust leak bc gas was spewing out of it when the 2 cyls were dead. Should I consider this also?

This thought process from Midnight makes the most sense to me. If I have folded plugs but they are getting spark it would still be misfiring. I need to nail down which cyl is missing before continuing. If I rule out the spark issue then I will look back at the carbs. I had them off last night...

the slides holding the needles aren't fluttering at idle. I have to rev up past 2000 to get them to move, lots of backfire and it's struggling pushing that dead cly
Hey yall, need some help thinking through this issue.
A week ago I was riding and suddenly the bike sounds different and felt very sluggish. I limp it home and I find the plug wire from cly3 is grounding on the frame. I knew I had some cracked coils and wires. So I replaced all four coils and...
I have the cobra slip-ons on my bike also. Pulled the carbs and I have the stock jets, guess the previous owner didn't rejet. Seems to run good, should I go up a size or 2?
Hello All,
Im searching for a set of rearsets for my Gen1 VMAX. I like the look of the OTEC ones for sale on Exactrep but Im not dead set on those.
Let me know what yall have for sale!
I have a new to me Vmax1200 with the 4-4 Cobra Exhaust on it. I know...I know it sucks. I hate how it looks and sounds but it's what I got right now. Planning on a 4-1 full exhaust and an S7 or Muscle kit this winter.
For now, I have an idle problem. It backfires and lean pops on the rear two...
Fire-medic 3-Max and randu
I'm picking the thread back up. Im tearing into my carbs to figure out my lean pop/sneeze issue. This is great info. Hoping yall will help out with any problems I run into!
I see you prefer K+L gasket to OEM. Is it really necessary to replace those when taking the...
It was a little frustrating. I removed the impeller cover, and the thermostat, and loosed all of the radiator hoses to be able to have enough play to get that elbow off and get the thermostat off.
I would guess so. I found out today behind there is oil behind the water pump. So I bet that gasket needs to be replaced if you're pulling the water pump
