Can exh packing effect jetting requirements?

I don't know, but DJ165 should work with a full exhaust with big diameter muffler (very loud set up) Otherwise it will always be too rich, MK 147.5 to 152.5 jets are in the good range ;)

    Unlocking Vmax-what exhaust?

With stock exhaust (better than slip ons) keep stock carburetion, Stage7 or Morley are better with full exhaust .. To unlock the JP version : -swap US TCI or Dyna or Ignitech -Install Vboost -Remove speed limiter -I don 't remember if the AAC are the full power ones, if not, swap with US ones.

    Abnormal engine sound

Yes maybe... Open the valve cover before, so you can check the chain tension. If needed you can push the tensionner 1 or 2 notches.

    The IGNITECH TCI thread

Forget all of this! My memory is in failure mode :) The problem was with removing the tag PERCENT in the servo settings... Nothing wrong with TPS instead of IAP !

    The IGNITECH TCI thread

Didn't work for me, if i choose TPS with IAP sensor connected, bad results and erratic software readings.. Since i had a Vboost vacuum controled setup, it was opening and closing erraticaly too. It surely requires new voltages setings... With a more conventionnal RPM Vboost setup, it could be...

    The IGNITECH TCI thread

If you select IAP, you should have KPA in Advance map, i see Percents on your screenshot..?? If you select TPS with IAP sensor, readings are wrong and unsteady.

    Vboost or no Vboost

145HP were for marketing, 130 is closed to truth

    Vboost or no Vboost

For runs, no need to operate the Vboost , it should be always opened. RPM will be always higher than 5000-6000...

    vboost servo motor

Just find an old servomotor, open it and take the potentiometer, you can take the motor too. I taked parts from an old YPVS servo, same parts except gears (different ratio)

    Off idle throttle response on/off

A good Sync of carbs and it will be smoother (even with S7) ;)

    Vboost or no Vboost

With Stock carbs, opening Vboost give more grunt but only at partial throttle Openings. Because it act like the butterfies were opening more and quicker. The more the throttle is opened, the less effect it give, and at WOT you loose power till you reach 5000-6000 RPM (because airspeed in the...

    Tour Tank Setup

No one provide an aftermarket tank to replace the stock one in US? Here we can find a 20 liters one.

    Those of you getting ~40mpg...

With my Stage7 and too big main jets (DJ175) : -44.4 MPG on free road -39 MPG on Highway (average speed 80mph) -28 MPG in town Now with Morley's kit and Wideband tuned : -33.2 MPG in town Not yet tested Highway and free road.

    Specific differences on TCIs

    Yes!

    Specific differences on TCIs

Correct. You began to talk about cam, not me, so we turn in the wrong way :) Forget cams in the curves above, this is all about ignition.

    Specific differences on TCIs

Progammable ignition is fine you can have better of both worlds : -Optimised mechanical curve (copy of New Dyna TCI) -Mixed vacuum curve ( the EU one is better at mid range). No difference in valve events between US ones and 90=> ones, same cams.... Only EUR =>89 have shorter duration cams.
  17. T

    Specific differences on TCIs

You can swap the CDI, but a progammable one is better ;) PINK is =>89 All curve BLUE is 90=>US curve GREEN is 90=> EUR curve

    Specific differences on TCIs

Already posted the timing chart on another thread ;) Maybe on the Ignitech thread... Basically, less mechanical advance, more vacuum advance.

    Overly high fuel consumption

Ok, you found your problem..DJ 175 = MK 165, very big jet, almost always useless. The DJ165 will be far better.
