    Side car recomendation needed

Leave your Max unmolested and get a BMW, BSA, Triumph, or a Ural and be done.

Look what showed up at a shop I use

I'll second that ! Jaguuar = British wannabe sports car made for narrow roads, short straights and low top speeds. That's why they sometimes get lucky enough to have a Chevy POWERplant installed in them.

Look what showed up at a shop I use

Sorry I couldn't resist, time for a little levity. Is that kind of like "I'm not a professional carpenter but if you have any questions about building your house let me know - pounding nails is pretty simple. " We've all emptied our share of rattle cans but running a paint booth is not the...

Look what showed up at a shop I use

That's a gorgeous Nomad and for sure way cooler than the 55-57 sedan versions ! I doubt it's for sale though huh ?! (Even with a profit ?) I think unless one makes their living in the garage, making a worthwhile profit can be elusive if you factor in an hourly rate. I decided to buy a chassis...

Look what showed up at a shop I use

I've owned this 37 Chev coupe for about 47 years, waiting for the time and resources to tackle it. I added 42 ft to my shop last winter for a place to work on it. I ordered a FATMAN custom chassis for it last spring and was supposed to take delivery at Back to the Fifties here in MN in June...

    Favorite nicknames for your Max.

I second that ! Many riders / owners / members of the general population are unaware of it's official "meaning" in dynamics or engineering terms, but it should be pretty self explanatory. I'm glad I don't own any Vmin bikes.

Sorry I couldn't resist, that sounds like ANOTHER good reason to leave that state.

Who is ready for this motorcycle?

How about this one ? Back in the 70's we were on the way to the MX races with my Chevy C10 van and 2 bikes on the trailer. The fuel pump died and of course we HAD to get to the races, so we removed one of the tanks and the engine doghouse, rigged up a connection to the carb and gravity fed the...

Motorcycle Wanted I need an opinion!

2 years ago I grabbed an 06 with 3500 miles in pristine condition from a dealer on the West coast. They had installed 2 new tires and a new battery and listed it on Cycle Trader for $ 3500. There's deals out there, $ 4500 for those miles should be easy to beat.

Motorcycle Wanted I need an opinion!

Expand your CL radius and take your time. You'll find a nicer one with lower miles for $2K to $3K in the next 3 months. Stock pipes are best unless you want to irritate others and sound a little cooler than the stock pipes already do.

Cheapest Chinese parts are better than OEM parts! Simple and logical explanation!!!

Why buy their junk and support them after their introduction of Covid to the planet ?

TV repair instructions for electrical guys.

I don't know either but someone here will weigh in on that. I do know it affects the brain's ability to use common sense.

TV repair instructions for electrical guys.

I've fixed a TV or 2 but have used a different approach for the last few years as they don't seem to be worth the effort anymore with the changing technology and ever lower cost. And I don't care for hanging a large screen TV more than once. I find a box suitable for shipping, place a large...

    1st Gen V-Max 1985 Vmax Cafe/Drag Build

I've always enjoyed the KR TZ 750 HD flat track story. What a great ending !! I picked up a pair of Gen 1's earlier this summer, one a parts rat that will eventually flow out to those in need here, and I've been working on how to rework the good one. I love the KR concept in the OP's photo...

    Front end swap

Sell a motorcycle ? That's a sacrilege. Motorcycles are to be bought only ! This method solves a lot of problems like 1) worrying about resale value, 2) don't have to fix it to sell it, 3) keeping it stock for any reason, 4) trading off features one likes to get other features (just switch...

    Garage exhaust ventilation system

Here's my fume extracting system. Shortly before we sold our welding business in 2012 our HSE mgr decided we needed an expensive system to remove welding fumes from the pipe shop. When we sold the business and later on the building this system was installed in the buyer converted it to rental...

V-boost is glorified solution for bad carburetors. Funny!!!

Can you spin that 10 ft board at 7500 RPM ? Not likely so zero RPM, zero HP. Can the 10 yr old girl spin her huge torque at 1500 RPM ? Not likely so zero RPM, zero HP. If the torque is nothing, HP = ZERO. Torque is the fundamental component of horsepower. Lots of RPM and little torque is like...

V-boost is glorified solution for bad carburetors. Funny!!!

HP = Torque X RPM. You MUST have torque before you can have ANY HP. Unless you're going WFO and rarely have to drop RPM, brake or slow down, torque is far more important than overall HP, and without a lot of it, you'll never have a lot of HP. Torque is what accelerates the engine RPM and...
