Just looked on the map. 40 looks like the nicest ride vs. 81. 260 mi from me. Should be an easy ride.
If you send me more info, as soon as I have the MeetUp group I'll post this as a ride.
Thanks
Fantastic!! Congrats on the bike.. guessing it's a Gen 1 from your post.
I was thinking about Fri or Sat for just a couple of hours. I'll send you a message with my contact info.
I just moved to Tobaccoville NC. (15 min from Winston Salem). I've found 1 fellow VMAX'er in Winston Salem. And I'm posting this to see who is in the area and interested in rides and or getting together.
I will be starting a MeetUp.com group in the next few weeks. It will be a "Sport...
Was it over when the Germans bombed Perl Harbor..HELL NO..
OH Boy is this gonna be great!
Faber College tag line.. "Knowledge is good"
Too many funny lines to list them all.
I tend to agree.. I run 42 rear 40 front. As a matter of pre ride that morning or the night before I ALWAYS check tire pressure.
Sure wish there was an easier way to check the oil (which I don't do that often). But also never seen it low either.
It is the 24 ltr. I forget the company name. I can dig it up. They are in Germany. Got my Highway pegs and soft bag mounts from the same guys.
I'm in the process of packing up to move so everything that was once at my finger tips is lost in an abyss of boxes.
Worst thing on the VMAX is the range. I love my 6 gal tank. Expensive and a PIA to install. Still do miles reset at gas stops. Since the float is kind of a hack adjustment. I just figure on 30 mpg , seems to work.
I have my original tank that I pulled along with some plastic parts when I did my 24 ltr tank..
If you want it, it's $25 to cover box and packing material plus UPS costs.. I'll pack it good so there will be no damage.
Thanks
Interesting thread. My 09 the clutch is probably the last 1" of lever travel. This is my first Hydraulic clutch bike so figured that was common.
I'd like to know what other Gen2 bikes clutchs are like.
I've kind of gotten used to the long crank time to start. It used to really bother me until I heard all of them do it.
What sucks is if you stall it and you're bearly rolling it feels like it takes FOREVER to start.
I've had some issues with the Shinko front.
- Tough to balance (lots of weights)
- Not perfectly round. My current tire is out a bit. Had one that was out of round 1/4" maybe a bit more.
Others have been perfect. No idea why this problem exists.
