Ethanol fuel is the worst. If I had to guess after sitting all winter this could be your problem. It collects moisture. Either drain the tank and add new fuel or add a gas treatment like sea foam “ not a full can” just a 1/4 can should do unless you want a full on smoke show. This should clean...

I put Holeshot cans on my UFO exhaust and it sounds great and isn't nearly as loud. He sells the mounting straps in two sizes I ordered the longer straps and they bolted right on and fit perfect.

Looking good! As far as paint goes not sure about satin black. I had a 1997 Yamaha YZF 1000 "Thunder Ace" that came stock with a very nice black with metal flake paint which would look great. But paint is a personal choice. Do what makes you happy.
