    Help/opinions???

I found the problem why my bike is running on 3. Busted wire on coil plug... I must have pulled on it dropping the battery in, making it very weak. Should be an easy fix tomorrow once I get a few things at the hardware store.

    Help/opinions???

I think new gaskets would be a good idea... Brake might be overfilled, but the clutch is definitely leaking... It went down in the sight glass on a short ride.

    Help/opinions???

#1... Last week I changed my spark pugs before I rode to my mechanic to replace fork seals and install progressive springs. The plugs that came out are DPR7EA-9, and I put in DPR8EA-9. Before I changed the plugs, the bike ran great. I took my time riding to mechanic's garage due to very cold...

    year of motor.

:pics: I'm sure someone can help if they have pics of your motor. I thought motor might have replaced on my '98. Turns out it was yanked for tranny work.

Sick of winter, ready to ride????

I finally put the battery in the bike and got it started. I had no intention on taking it out because there is still quite a bit of snow around. Once I heard that awesome V4 come to life, I found myself with helmet, gloves, and jacket on, ready to go! I went for a short spin around the block. It...

Grateful Dead ice cream eater and my bike

Wow. Good demo for cold weather starts. Dennis, you are really looking out for me... Thanks!:worthy: Another great example of why this is such a good forum. I'll have to check the shipping cost of the Odyssey PC680. Looks like it will be a better battery for my climate. Maybe my local dealer...

    ZMax

I have used Zmax in my automobiles many times, but honestly I'm a little afraid to try in in the bike. I'm worried that it might ruin the clutch (like synthetic). I tow a camper in the summer and find Zmax does help with the fuel mileage. Carol Shelby was the spokesman when he was alive.

    burn outs

I have the same tire to try out as well. I don't do burnouts but love the twisties. Hopefully it holds up to the challenge.

Grateful Dead ice cream eater and my bike

I read earlier that if you turn the key "on" (headlight on) for 30 seconds, it will warm the battery enough in temps as low as 20F. Considering that, I don't think this battery would cause any real trouble. That's f@#king cold on a street bike.

Grateful Dead ice cream eater and my bike

Thanks DMAN999. I checked the first link, they don't ship to Canada. I will check with the local dealers here. Sounds like another good option. Shipping cost is a factor for me in Newfoundland. Big reason why I'm looking at lithium ion. BTW... Fire-medic, I love what you've done with your...

Grateful Dead ice cream eater and my bike

Thanks Fire-medic. I was actually looking at the Shorai. I like the fact that they hold a good charge and spin the motor a little faster. It is generally a colder climate where I live. (had 10" of snow over the weekend:bang head:)

How well does the battery fit? I hear they are smaller. Thinking about ordering one myself.

Still cold here. Might get more snow this week... More salt on the roads again:bang head: Hope to be riding in 2 weeks. The itch is killing me!

Three years in storage - resurrection procedure?

Nice bike! Well worth bringing back to life. The pic in the snow looks like it would have been a very unnerving ride. :snow:
