I dont know that I have seen the OEM slip ons, a picture would be nice.

Those will probably work with headers but not with the stock pipes.

Check the connections under the left side scoop, they could have some corrosion causing it not to work.

The two brothers mufflers probably may not connect to the stock header pipes

That could be a number of things,vacuum leak, lean condition, pluggage in the carbs. I think I would pulls the carbs, check the mainfold boots and clean the carbs, then sync the carbs to start with.

choctaw that is normal just make sure that there ia a little slack in the cables

The Holeshot slip ons will work better than the Cobra's and should not need rejetted

When the cables do not have the right amout of slack this condition will be there
