    85 regulator

I think that answers my charging question. New one (with the fins) ordered. Joe Sent from my C6725 using Tapatalk

So, hot the old rr off, I would say it's toast. Sent from my C6725 using Tapatalk

    Voltage indicator

I ordered the new version of the regulator today. I am pretty sure that's the issue. I am going to take a look in a few. Sent from my C6725 using Tapatalk

    Voltage indicator

Update, on the ride home, the voltage just kept dropping, charging the battery now, barely made it home. Will check the connections and the regulator once it's charged. I'm thinking the regulator is hozed. Zero charge going into that battery.

    Voltage indicator

This is the volt meter I purchased. Rode the bike in today, revving the engine had no effect on the meter. Held at 10.6 to 10.5 the whole way in, would blip lower when I pulled the brake, or used turn signals. I'm thinking my regulator or the actual generator is hosed...

    Voltage indicator

Ok, so my thinking was that there would be some measurable difference between not running and running regardless of where the connections were if the regulator was working properly. Is that correct? Or am I missing something?

    Voltage indicator

I think I know the answer to this, but I figured I would ask. I hooked up a voltage meter to the power lead on the tach, and the ground, it's reading a volt below what I got on the battery, but I an fine with that. When I started the bike. The reading didn't change. I think when I last did...

85 vmax " how much offer?"

Yeah, I'd take the money and get a gen2. I have an 85 that JUST rolled over 4,000 miles, and I'm considering tossing it out there for sale at some point just to see what happens. I mean, ****, how many 85's can there be out there with less than 5,000 miles on them? I doubt anyone would bite...

Strange- Clutch lever goes to bar with no resistance

So, quick update, that seems to have done the trick. So far the clutch has been working great, so I think she's all set. Thanks everyone! Joe

Strange- Clutch lever goes to bar with no resistance

My wife will be thrilled to hear we need to bleed the clutch more. She was very happy to help me last time. :) Haha. Actually, she's freaking awesome, didn't gripe once, and LOVES riding the bike. Not many like her. I'll update after I pump, bleed, repeat this weekend. Joe

Strange- Clutch lever goes to bar with no resistance

I think I might have a one way bleeder port. I tried to reverse bleed the lines, but the pressure built up and blew my plastic line off the nipple. I decided to just fill the reservoir and do it the old way. After about an hour of pump the lever 10 times and let the pressure/air out, I've got...

Strange- Clutch lever goes to bar with no resistance

Good advice, I might take it if this line doesn't do the trick. I don't see ANY fluid coming from the newly rebuilt master though, so while that could be the issue, I'm hoping it's the line and the replacement will resolve that. I tried the reverse bleed before, but couldn't seem to get the...

Strange- Clutch lever goes to bar with no resistance

This is a strange one, and I think I have the answer, but wanted to ask here- Got my vmax last year, 85 with 1,950 miles on her. Slave cyl for the clutch was leaking, well, that's to be expected, had the shop rebuild the slave. This year, the master cyl was leaking, same deal, shop rebuilt...

    Thunder 2015

We did not get to socialize nearly as much as I would have liked, but we will be fixing that next year. We got a room late so we were the whole way at the front of the hotel, and didn't get in till Friday night. The rain killed what was going to be the main day for us on Saturday, but next...

    Mixture is wrong

You guys are great, as soon as it's not "freeze my balls off cold" here in PA I'm going to give this a shot and see how it turns out. I'll update ya with my results! Joe

    Mixture is wrong

My problem with that thought process is that I have non stock pipes, so the jetting for my system would still be off, no? Joe

    Mixture is wrong

Ok, so my wonderful 1985 vmax that was running ok when the carbs were totally out of sync, now that the carbs are synced is running like crap. When I checked the mixture screws they are all 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 turns out. The bike came with VooDoo 4 into 2's installed, and my guess is they just...
