Bracket.
I AGAIN beat my record: 11.52 @ 188 Km/h, and won 3rd place in my category. Somehow they let a GSX-R 1000 in my class and he ran a 10.99 against me. :confused2:
I just got home and it's very late. More pictures and details later.
Update from the track...
I ran the 1/4 mile about 7 times yesterday. During practice, the guy who beat me for first place last year on his ZX-9 lined up next to me. He won twice, but I won twice. Those were awesome races... uh... practice. :biglaugh:
The time slip machine was broken, so had...
Tomorrow I'll start driving about 6 hours to get to the racetrack for another drag race weekend. Weather forecast is not the best, but as I keep checking, it's getting better.
Finals on Monday.
My personal best is 11.65 in the 1/4 mile.
Come to think of it... I have gasket material. Maybe I could make my own.
I've drained the bowl a couple times as described, but no change.
I'll check / replace the fuel lines also.
* Disregard previous update. The problem is back. *
I had an appointment yesterday after work 2 hours away in Budapest. When I started my bike, I could tell I lost power in #3 again. I felt the exhaust (reminder: I have true 4-into-4) and #3 was dead. When I rode it to work, it was fine. But...
UPDATE: JUST STANDARD MAINTENANCE!
I decided to sync my carbs today. Found #3 way off (lean I think) and #4's vacuum cap was very dry-rotted and probably leaking.
After syncing the carbs and installing all new vacuum caps, it idles very smoothly without popping.
Also, yesterday I added...
HANDLEBARS
Well, I hesitate to say this is the cause for sure. I still have not changed the swingarm bearings yet. But the seriousness of the wobble has not returned after riding with the handlebars braced. I just replaced the bars with the new ones pictured in the post above. They are more...
Thanks y'all for the support.
Some of you might understand this... Being a "man of faith" it's still a personal struggle to accept a physical effect (cracked skull) on my personality / emotions. But I'm mostly accepting it. I have a very supportive pastor that I can be very open with. There...
I've done the shotgun procedure a while back, but no improvement.
I might need to do it again.
It's quite a coincidence that I'm having these problems with the same cylinder that has not fired in an unknown amount of days / months / years.
When I bought my bike a little over 2 years ago, I rode it home and found the #3 coil wire broken. I repaired it, and eventually upgraded to Coil Over Plugs (COPs). It's continually had strange "popping" sounds from #3. I have a true 4-into-4 exhaust now, so I can hear and feel what that...
I remember asking about jetting my bike, but was talked out of it because the stock down pipes out of the head are too small and restrictive, and jetting will not improve power.
Can anyone verify this?
Last couple rides were very stable compared to previously.
The 2 recent changes were:
1. Added the handlebar cross brace
2. Tightened the steering head bearings a little more.
Ordered a new set of bars yesterday. They look solid. I think that's a factor in my wobble... maybe.
Here's a...
My rear tire is currently square and bald in the center. Shows my riding style, I suppose.
The next drag race scheduled here in Hungary is on April 29-30. I'm not a big long distance rider, so not many miles (Km) will be ridden between now and then.
My options:
1. Ride lightly and hope the...
I found this picture today. If this belongs to someone on the forum, I'm sorry for what I'm about to say.
In MY opinion, this is the worst thing possible to do to a V-Max. I think a 1977 Honda Gold Wing would have been a better choice. :confused2:
I just returned from Budapest where the psychiatrist told me she was 100% positive I have a form of PTSD from my car crash. I have meds that I will try. We'll see what happens.
P.S. - My bike seems much more stable now. I'll ride it for a couple more weeks and see how it goes.
I still have new swingarm bearings sitting on my bench waiting for install.... sometime.
