    Fuel filter replacement....

On the Napa 3011, you don't cut off the smaller end of the nipple do you? I got one today and was gonna install it but was unsure if the smaller opening would cause a problem.

    Cleaning a/f screw and spring

Found a brass brush buried in the toolbox. Worked like a charm with the carb cleaner. Thanks guys. Sent from my Droid that you are not looking for

    Cleaning a/f screw and spring

So like carb cleaner and a toothbrush? Stuff is pretty caked on. Sent from my Droid that you are not looking for

    Cleaning a/f screw and spring

Hey all, I am in the middle of doing the shotgun on the carbs. What does everyone use to clean up the a/f screw and spring? Mine has the white chalky looking buildup on it. Also, how can you tell if the end of the screw is damaged from being bottomed out too hard? Thanks.

    Carb/manifold clamp fix

What about using hose clamps temporarily?

    Carb/manifold clamp fix

Hey all. I was trying to get my bike dialed in better today and changed out my mains. Put everything back together and noticed the boot for #4 was not tightening all the way down. Tried to pull the rack back off and couldn't get it to come off that carb. Figured it must be tight enough and...

    Vboost off for carb tuning?

Hey all. I recently put on an IXIL exhaust like KJ's and now I am running pretty rich. Was going to try and get it dialed in this weekend but had a few questions. After looking at the factorypro website about tuning cv carbs, I was wondering if the vboost makes it harder to choose the main...

Understanding Exhaust: The How & Why

KJ, my brain melted a little reading all that. Good info, though.

Rear shocks: height and model choice

I lowered my front 2" internally and then went with the Progressive 11.5" 430's. I wanted just a bit quicker turn in without being unstable at high speeds. Has worked well so far. I got the shocks and a shortened kickstand from Sean. I took off the centerstand as soon as I got the bike, but...

    IXIL exhaust-thanks KJ

Pipes on both sides would be sick! Hope it doesn't double up on the noise.

    IXIL exhaust-thanks KJ

Thanks Sean! Did someone see these on a Max before? Looks and sounds like the true hotrod that it is now.

    IXIL exhaust-thanks KJ

That's one thing I liked about these. If you have a 4-1 or 4-2-1, you can get one nasty sounding bike for about a hundred bucks. Mine's set up to where I can just unbolt and slip it off and put on the Hindle if I want to quiet it down. Buuuuut, I don't see that happening. :punk: KJ, where did...

    IXIL exhaust-thanks KJ

PDW, here is a 4-2 setup. All of the pipes will require some sort of mod to make them fit. http://www.indysuperbike.com/Ixil_Dual_Hyperlow_SlipOn_Exhaust_Kawasaki_Z1000-1616844.html

    IXIL exhaust-thanks KJ

Yeah, in hindsight I would have gotten the one for the ZX6 and saved $10. But, after doing some research, the Gladius pipe would have been a straight replacement, except the opening was only 1.75" instead of 2". Figures. Didn't notice the disclaimer, but wasn't really looking either. Side...

    IXIL exhaust-thanks KJ

After seeing KJ's video on his exhuast, I ordered one from Indysuperbikes. I already had a Hindle 4-2-1 and wanted a different can. KJ wasn't kidding, this thing is LOUD. :punk: All of the IXIL cans are the same, with different fittings for particular bikes. I ordered one for the Suzuki Gladius...

    Custom bike builder

Hey all, not vmax related but still pretty cool. This guy's shop is just behind the business where I work. Needless to say, I am over there quite a bit checking out his projects. The Kawabusa's that he builds are pretty badass. Lately he's been concentrating on the trikes, but does have a new...

    New Springs Question

If you lower the front more than the rear, the steering will be quicker, or lighter. Not as stable at high speeds (supposedly) but I haven't noticed any adverse effects. Lowered mine 2" in front and 1.5" in back.

    My 2003 V-Max

Welcome to the forum. I have the same bike, well pretty much, 2004. Is that a Hindle system? If it is, you can cut the can down to like 12" or so and make it sound real nasty. You might also want to get an oil pressure gauge. These bikes don't like to be revved hard until fully warmed up...

    Best Windshield

I have the small factory windscreen. Tried riding without it and at high speeds you can really notice a difference on the chest. Put it back on pretty quick.
