My first painted Vmax in almost 20years

Here is the finished product mounted and all. Thanks John, for all your help with mounting the parts and everything. The camera can't really capture the red metallic very well. Post your pics up too John. It'd be nice to see what your camera took too, mine were taken with my phone. Thad

What did you do to your Vmax today?

Got some new body parts that were painted by another forum member (ABI04). Here are the before and after. Stock was the carbon fiber print and the new parts are burnt orange and charcoal silver with red metallic and some ghost flames. It's hard to capture the red metallic in the light on a...

    Pilot Mixture Screws question

Ok... So I am trying to follow all the instructions for setting the pilot mixture screws and they all seem pretty straight forward, but I seem to have one problem that somewhat concerns me. When I turn each mixture screw in until the engine starts to stutter, the screws are almost all the way...

Thinking of getting some paint done

I was thinking of maybe getting the gray metallic rcok airbrushing like he has on the one busa with a stripe down the middle of it that would look like lava flowing out of the rocks.

Thinking of getting some paint done

My Director's husband does paint work on the side for bikes and I was thinking about getting some done from him on my Max. She said she's going to try and find pictures of the Max that he painted and used to own. Let me know what you guys think of some of the stuff he's done here.

    gas/fuel/petrol mileage

Re: my gas milage sucks Are you running bone stock or do you have some mods on it, if so what mods? I get about 100 to 112 on mine and I have Cobra slip-on exhaust and I dropped the main fuel jet down from 152.5 to 147.5 and I also have Dynojet Needles. Other than that, mine is stock on the...

Replaced fork seals, leaking at air valve?

I'll vouch for that. Mine rides a millions times better with the racetech springs with no more worries of air. The local shop charged me $76 dollars to change the springs and seals and change the oil to 15 wt.

Re: Old bike photos HAHA Yeah I know, The bike fell over in the garage one day when I was working on it and I had to order a new set of handlebars for it since they got all bent up. The motorcycle graveyard here didn't have any replacements from a junked maxim and I wasn't going to pay $65...
