Ya they go in series. I'm guess that they have to be attached to the frame of something else to sink the heat from them.

I'm guessing that if a CDI is weak having the extra current may help put it over the edge. I'm going to add some one ohm resistors.

Ya I realized they seemed too high and I re-checked with a different multimeter and read different values. I hate when the batteries start to go on a multimeter. The new values are 2 ohms for the COPs and 3.2 for the OEM coils. So I need 1 ohm power resistors in series. I was doing some math...

Correct. Go to the junkyard and chop some off a harness and save on buying the full ebay harness. Any update from people running these without resistors?

I bought a set of short COPs off a 05 GSXR 1000. I am ready to wire it up but I am wondering if I need some inline resistors. My bike is an 86. The COPs are reading 10ohms across the primary connections and 13.5Kohms across the secondary connections. Thanks!

If it comes to it you can cut them off. Then you can drill and tap holes for new studs. There must be a better option though. Now that I think of it, can you just cover them up with some type of insulation, such as shrink wrap. Maybe some silicone over them and then scrape it off after.

I've seen green anodized wheels and they look awesome. That bike has a ton of potential with so many top notch mods. I'll be following this thread closely. Keep it updated. Thanks.

Since this got bumped I figured I'd update it. My cousin got an 09 and threw the Yamaha 240 kit on it.

You can try it and if you don't like it go back to stock. It only takes less than an hour to do the mod if you go at a slow beer drinking pace. Those springs are cheap too.
