How much interest in a VMF Tshirt?

    One in large please.

    Getting it up....

Next time you have the bike on the center stand, slide a board under the rear tire to measure the gap. Use a thickness where you will still have a bit of clearance in case you want to spin the rear at any time. Next time you park it, put the board under the front of the rear tire and push it...

    Nut Retrieval

Hope you're OK. I've had that happen to me twice way back when. It doesn't feel any better the second time around. Standing up on the foot pegs works really good in this situation.

    1985 max

If you have never heard of the "0" ring problem, then it's best you don't know about it. Congrats on the longevity and number of miles on the old girl. You must have taken good care of her. :clapping:

    1985 max

Welcome Bill. Just out of curiosity, did it ever have the pan dropped to check on that dreaded "0" ring problem? You being the original owner, and the bike having almost 120K miles on it and 20 some years old, it would be good to know first hand. Appreciate your come-back.

    Polishing

I think Rob has something there. Chances are good that when you get done with it, it will look worse, especially if you've never done it before. Polishing will always show signs of fine lines, no matter how good the job. Look at the stock polishing from the factory. You want better, get...

    Watch out for this guy....

Sounds like a guy I knew (sort of) a while back. :whistlin:

    Any launching tips?

That's a hard question to answer Bill since there are so many variables. About 5K usually gives a good launch but the tire, pavement, rider's weight and many other considerations come into play. It's usually a trial and error thing until you find what works for you. There are some guys on...

    Mark's Pipe recommendations?

Could be too that they found guys calling have more of an urge to buy and seal the deal then and there. eMail takes longer to deal with, especially when many are just fishing and want to know every little detail of weight, sound, hp increase etc. All this takes a few minutes to answer by...

What I do when I'm bored and can't ride

Trivialities Boss, mere trivialities. At my age, I need you guys to cut me a little slack. :worthy: It would be nice if the rest would voice their opinion. I don't see a problem with having two types of shirts, depending on the surroundings. Hey if not, :bang head: :rofl_200:

    Parts on my bike

That is a reworked seat by a professional. Those are new skins by the way it's sewn. If you try stretching the original, the seams would not remain straight and go all over the place. Don't ask me how I know this. :whistlin:

What I do when I'm bored and can't ride

I could really go for the middle tribal design, small front and the other on back. Instead of the name Waylander, vmaxforum on top and .com in-between the horns right under the name. I don't get too exited anymore but that middle pair would be way different than anything out there.:clapping:

What I do when I'm bored and can't ride

Those really look good. I too like tribals a lot. Want us to take up a collection so you can go cruising with the BEAST?

2008 Yamaha Vmax confirmed for production and launch!

As I see it, there are two possibilities. Either they will produce it or not. If they won't produce it, there's nothing more to say. If they do produce it, the reason they are so damn tight-lipped about it is because they still have an inventory of the old model to sell. Parts of Europe...

    Are you a "Biker?"

Like Lew, I've been riding for over 45 years now and never felt like I do now, addicted to the power, can't wait to ride and enjoy the freedom biking affords. Biker? Not before the Max but now I could live on it.:thumbs up:

    coolant additive

We all usually post what works for us and no one is saying that I'm right and the others are wrong. How can anybody make an informed decision without seeing different sides of any problem. My view, like others, comes from my own experiences and learnings in life. Instead of hearing one side...

    coolant additive

Not a Problem. We should all voice our opinions. Many guys are dissatisfied with this and with that. What gets me is with all this fault finding, many will stear away from the Max. This bike was manufactured over 20 years ago, the main purpose was to be the quickest from here to there and it...

2008 Yamaha Vmax confirmed for production and launch!

Well I read everything the R&R site had on the new Max and don't see where they can positively state anything. Just more of the same :confused2: .

    T-Rex

It definitely has possibilities. They need to remove those cake forms from the wheels and both swingarms are way too big. Nice paint and some futuristic touches. Never ride it in the rain because you'll get more spray from the rear than the front, but it looks cool.
