    Mark's Exhaust

Have you ever heard of "The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know"? Face it Rusty, you're getting smarter, but that's a GOOD thing. :)

    snow slammed!

Sorry to post here but I need some HELP with posting. Tried to contact Buster but was only able to write in the subject line. I can only post when clicking on the "quick reply" tab. All other options give me the message box but when I click in it, all I get is the hand with pointing finger like...

    snow slammed!

Hey Rusty, what kind of humidity are we talking about in summer? And can I keep my SISTER-IN-LAW out of the state legally? The last one is more important than the first question but I sure dislike a lot of hot humid weather.

    snow slammed!

Check it out. I have a 400ft driveway and all the trees from one side are leaning into it and preventing me from leaving. They are frozen in place and who knows when it will get warm enough to thaw that ice.

    electric supercharger ?

Yes he did and the whole Yahoo group got a big kick out of it. The only way to gain any power is to have a sealed system that forces the air in and compresses it. Any opening at all, and the air, like water or electricity, will take the path of least resistance. The guy tried a lot of silly...

I love California. I'm what they call "California Dreamin". I'll definitely will be heading West some day in the near future.

    snow slammed!

Our electric went out last evening and didn't come on 'till 9:30 this morning. Glad I bought that portable generator and had it all wired up. I've got trees down that made it through other ice storms. What a mess but really neat in it's own way with all the ice glitter. This is definitely a...

    New Max

Now you tell me Rob that you don't like the front of the bike. I think it fits the image as a mean bruiser. All that plastic will be done away with and hopefully the rear fender will be closer to the tire. Yamaha even said that this version is not the final design. If they produce it, it will be...

    New Max

The two pics you're showing have nothing to do with Yamaha or the new Max. They are someone else's concept. The black one on the right was manufactured by some outfit that deals in drastic customization. I've read enough opinions where one wants this and another wants just the opposite. If...

    2008 vmax

Nothing is for sure Russ and no one knows except Yamaha, least of all the dealers who would blab at the drop of the hat. I'm not a big believer in a lot of things, but I'm hanging on to the dream. You got to believe in something.

    Cylinder head work

Not a problem Lew. Stellite can be coated on an average of 1mm which equals out to roughly .040 of an inch. Plenty stock to clean up. It's happened so many times before where individuals simply state someone is wrong without any reference or proof at all. At my age I have more trouble...

    Fork seal job

The upper spacer does determine how much preload the forks have. As a rule of thumb, the sag should be about 1/3 of the stock travel but when the forks get lowered internally, this dimension has to be shortened respectively. When checking preload, start with the front tire completely off the...

    Drivers reaction test, very addictive!

I recently bought a new laser mouse and am having problems posting also. I can post when clicking on the 'quick reply' but not on the "Post Reply". Also there is a red line underlining everything and it wasn't there before. I just love all this new technology.

    Drivers reaction test, very addictive!

Thanks Rusty but something is amiss. Even at the site I got nothing concrete on the title.

    Drivers reaction test, very addictive!

OK guys. Hate to admit it but all I get is a blank page. Anybody want to help out the elderly?

    Exhaust temp, Carb synch

I'm using the vac gages because I'm used to them since 1970. They are easy to check for accuracy by hooking them all up to one carb and then can be adjusted easily. They last forever and are reasonable to buy and work with.

    chat room

What would be nice is a system where another member can be notified while logged in to meet in the chat room just like the alert for a private message

    VMF Logo

Just for your consideration. The front logo is round and a bit plain. Adding another inner or outer circle would represent a tire ( with a few extra lines) and a bit of smoke or flame on one side of it for the burnout the Max is known for. Also the back logo is a bit large and the same as the...

    Cylinder head work

Rusty, PCW was talking about stellite VALVES. No brag, but I'd bet that I have installed and worked with more stellite valves than anybody on here. I got them cleaned up by a machine shop that does valves professionally. Notice I posted previously that it should be a clean-up grind only, never...

More pics of Custom Vmax on Ebay
