    Brake Pad Insulators Necessary

Appreciate it friend. Took it for a spin and didn't notice anything unusual. Have a longer ride scheduled for tomorrow and feel better about going ahead with it. Thanks again!

    Brake Pad Insulators Necessary

You guys know if #s 3, 4, and 6 are critical? 3/6 is called a brake pad shim, 4 is called a brake pad insulator. I must've threw them away with the old pads and my new EBC Double-H Sintered pads didn't include those pieces. Guess I should note it's the rear brake.

    Are These Fuel Sys Pressurized

Disregard. A buddy ditched his rollover valve for a long hose that runs uninterrupted from the vent tube and terminates under the swingarm. His machine runs great and the interior of his tank is obviously equal to atmospheric pressure.

Rear Brake not working. ABS not working?

Got no rear brake either. Bleed a whole bottle of Dot 4 through and still can't get a stiff peddle. Guess I'll get the manual out and do the ABS test.

    Are These Fuel Sys Pressurized

First fill up following the L3K tank install. Got quite a poof when I popped the gas cap. Never noticed that before. Just wondering if these fuel tanks are supposed to be vented into the atmosphere or are they under pressure.

    Headlight assembly and housing swap.

Unless you want to power it with atomic fusion. Digging that red rim stripe. Love to do that on mine.

    Recognize this ECU?

In that case... glad to hear. As Tim has had my ECU in his capable hands a couple of times 👍

    Recognize this ECU?

Running richer wouldn't surprise me. Don't know if it was as much an issue in '09 but manufacturers (HD at least) release models to public running extra lean. Evidently to better conform to strict emission requirements.

    Recognize this ECU?

C'mon Lunatic. Should "Yamaha racing ECU" and "nothing special" ever be used together in a sentence?

    Recognize this ECU?

That is neat. Be interesting to hear the back story of that machine.

    Headlight assembly and housing swap.

For the time being, I installed an H4 LED bulb from Custom LED. Also replaced the little park light above with a 194 LED. Although everything is working fine I should add that I also swapped the signals for LEDs and changed the flasher relay at the same time. The relay also came from Custom...

HEADERS-WHAT TO BUY AND WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

The stock head pipes were good so stuck with those. Went with Delkevic mid-pipes which I'm real pleased with. And Delkevic titanium X-Ovals which I wouldn't do again. They're great slip-ons but fit like a bitch on these Gen2s. Especially with the unforgiving carbon straps Delk provides...

HEADERS-WHAT TO BUY AND WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

Absolutely - can't see how it'd hurt anything. Just FYI, mine's mid-pipes were ROUGH when I bought it and I looked at refinishing (Jet-Hot has a facility in Burlington). But it was less expensive to buy a new pipes and slip-ons.

HEADERS-WHAT TO BUY AND WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

Oh. Looks like a decent excuse for a full exhaust. Was it a beach bike? Tim Nash has some options with matching flashes. He could have something for those slip-ons too. They appear to be Delkevic DS70s. If so, I think they take his Holeshot tune.

HEADERS-WHAT TO BUY AND WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

I'm not seeing any pics except the one in your intro. Looks to be de-catted. Is the problem area confined to the mid-pipes?

    HEADLIGHT CONVERSION

We need to get up so I can look at those pipes. My bike is low miles but I've modded the hell out of it. Jerry's bike is bone stock but he's got a gazillion miles on it. I take that back - he swapped his tank for the 6 gal one.

    HEADLIGHT CONVERSION

You're a man after my own heart. I agonized over this for months. Even bought the headlamp and brackets. But this gen's bar/tach/lamp assy made **** way too impractical and I ended up settling for an LED bulb. Where you at BTW? There're a few of us in central NC (Winston area).
