    Halp!! Oil level

Is this ok to put in the shaft? http://www.autozone.com/greases-and-gear-oil/gear-oil/mobil-synthetic-gear-oil-sae-75w-90-1-qt-/1437_0_0/

I think this is a problem....

To be honest I think it's overflowing with oil as well, I think the previous owner put in a whole quart more than was called for... Once I get that dealt with and clean the tubing/replace the crankcase vent filter I'd imagine most of that will go away

    Halp!! Oil level

Which is better between the Rotella 5w40 and 15w40? And other oils that are better at similar or lower price point? I have close to 50k miles and am going with the Bosch 3323 if that makes any difference

    Halp!! Oil level

After research, I think I'm going to get the Bosch 3323 or 3300 (need help choosing which, one is 3.5" and other is 2.5"), hopefully auto zone has it in stock tomorrow Where I found a helpful list of filters: http://www.vmaxoutlaw.com/tech/oil_filters.htm

What type of Bosch filter would fit the screw on conversion kit?

    Halp!! Oil level

Tomorrow is a big day! Putting my new rear tire on (shinko 170), oil change w/ filter, shaft oil change, brake lines, then I'm going to pop the carbs off and drop the bowls to clean them out! Whoop!

    Halp!! Oil level

Renting the walk out basement of a house, so the 4'x6' rear patio, of course! Haha And as it turns out the bike has the twist on conversion kit! Whoop! Can I twist it off with hand strength or do I need the tool? And which filter would be best?

I think this is a problem....

Building off this, could it also be a valve issue? If so can anyone tell me what/how to adjust them?

I think this is a problem....

I was emailing Sean and he or someone else using his email said that it wouldn't catch on fire - my initial inclination was "this is obviously going to catch fire" but if Sean says it won't then I'm inclined to believe him haha But yea you're right, what would be a good material to fashion a...

I think this is a problem....

Also!!! If anyone could please confirm my theory: Bike idles very well once it's warm, but if I hold the throttle at 1.4k (won't get past 1.5k without feathering in any gear but neutral) the left rear carb spits every couple seconds and that's when the bike bogs down. I did a test on a hill...

I think this is a problem....

That's exatly what it sounds like, but it holds strong until the motor backfires. Sounds like I should clean everything up in the area either way. At least I know the oil coming out of the filter isn't flammable now :eusa_dance:

I think this is a problem....

Figures lol, how much is a starter? It turns the bike over well enough to start it but if the bike backfires while turning over it makes a spinning-while-not-engaging type sound. The original battery tray under the seat is just empty lol. And I want to but I don't want to mess anything up -...

I think this is a problem....

Just looked it up, it's legit a $25 lawnmower battery... That might explain why it will crank for days but cranks at the speed of a snail -.-

I think this is a problem....

But how do I sort it out in an easy manner? :confused2: I finally got her to get past idle and I want to warm her up and flog her :bang head:

I think this is a problem....

So can I replace it with something that doesn't smoke and shoot flammible **** all over my battery? xD

I think this is a problem....

LOL yea I saw it and I was like... whoever thought this up probably got picked off by Darwin by now. ANYWAY, I need it for transportation so unless I do a swap with Sean or another member and can sort it out in one weekend day I'm probably going to keep the Vgas FCR set up. With that said...

I think this is a problem....

As some may know I was having trouble getting my Vgas carbs to rev above Idle, I since have run close to a tank worth of gas with seafoam treatment and they seem to rev above idle consistently so long as there is no load (commonly stalls with clutch half released still) Either way, I got her...

    Halp!! Oil level

http://www.knfilters.com/oil_filter/yamaha_vmx1200_v-max.aspx This makes it seem like the 85 uses a different filter than 96 and up. Is that true? What's a good filter to get?

    Historic plates in MD?

Let's not pretend that's an easy task with a full exhaust system xD sometimes my gf plugs her ears in the house while it warms up :eusa_dance: Good tips on not being too routine about things, I think I'll be fine with that said :punk:
