I think something is bad wrong :/

Haha now I'm worried I'll over tighten them xD as for the gaskets that are on there, they are beyond done, I can see huge cracks everywhere throughout them - so I don't think tightening them down more would fix em haha Thanks for the tip though! should I just get them hand tight with the hex...

I think something is bad wrong :/

I wish I could, I mean on second thought I may be able to drive it down the inside stairway but the real trouble would be getting it out! Shame there isn't a regular walk out. And hahaha! If the dates happen to line up for that I don't think we'd get anything done :punk: On the bike at least

I think something is bad wrong :/

Well you know more than I do xD he mentioned that could be a problem because he's a mechanic but he refuses to help with anything motorcycle related for the most part lol. I'd love to bring her down sometime and tinker a bit, just let me know when and where! I probably won't have the valve...

I think something is bad wrong :/

Alright sweet! The reason my dad told me that I might have a bad one is because the oil was milky and the coolant is really dark/dirty. Either way, I'd love to bring it down and let you take it for a ride but I won't be able to get it down there until the valve cover is on there xD I very...

I think something is bad wrong :/

I am actually a little concerned that I have a bad head gasket, so that's definitely an interest of mine. If I only end up doing the valve cover gaskets (not sure where to get valve clearance shim and measuring kit) then I'll be fine in the trusty driveway! If you have a better place to work...

I think something is bad wrong :/

Hahaha! I've actually been convinced between Sean and my dad that the Vgas system probably isn't in my best interest :confused2: So I might trade them out if the right offer comes along. Don't you have Vgas? Can you tell me more about it? I still haven't gotten my bike safe enough to really...

I think something is bad wrong :/

Just took a look at the bike, with the Vgas system it looks like they'll be pretty easy to deal with compared to the write up :punk:

    Nice Day For A Ride

Hahaha sometimes looking through a window just isn't enough!

I think something is bad wrong :/

I definitely want to do both as I can only imagine how crappy and old they are, plus I don't want one going out while I'm far from home. With that said, I actually just asked Sean if I could pretty please borrow his valve clearance kit sometime. I found the write up and and I must say...

I think something is bad wrong :/

Thanks! I appreciate it. How much can I expect this to cost if I try to do it myself?

I think something is bad wrong :/

So I had a hunch it was running lean, but drove it a mile to school anyway, well I tried... Not even out of my neighborhood yet and I smell hot oil :bang head: I hope this is something I can fix myself because I'm more than out of money here lol. Here is a pic showing where I think it's...

Still having throttle lag, safety concern

Ohh ok I didn't know that! Do the peashooter/shotgun method(s) work on the Vgas carbs too? Thanks!

Still having throttle lag, safety concern

Possibly, but I just dropped them down and took off the bowls and cleaned two of the pilots (crappy screwdriver couldn't get the other two) and all the main jets. I adjusted the fuel and air screws to what the UFO guys told me (3/4 out for air, 1 full turn out for fuel) But I mean besides...

Still having throttle lag, safety concern

This thread makes me feel like it's a severe lean bog... but one wrong assumption and I could be frying a piston or just making it worse. http://www.dirtbikeworld.net/forum/archive/index.php/t-2463.html Is there any way to get an accurate a/r ratio from exhaust without a dyno? Does anyone...

Still having throttle lag, safety concern

So I did everything under the sun, and now the bike can dependably get me from A to B :eusa_dance: Unfortunately, this throttle lag is still a pretty big safety concern. Keep in mind this is a Vgas set up IE: I rode to school today since I saw high of 40 and no rain, on the way home, a...

    V-Max Designer Dead at 85

Age 85, production beginning in 85, coincidence? I think not.

    She lives!!!!!!

They're the Vgas set up, downdraft carbs, and they say CR on the top and aren't the MX type, that's all I really know lol. And I think they're 39mm

    She lives!!!!!!

They are not and I don't think whoever put them in did a great job. I will be fixing them asap, I actually have new LED ones right now not put on yet. As for the only remaining issue, my accelerator pump still is not squirting! I wish it was. When I first got the bike I remember noting...
