    Okay got some more info on the bike, its a 1985 and he said its the 1300cc motor..... but i havnt gotten to actually see it myself so i cant verify it forsure. Did the 1985s have the 1300 motor?

    Well on my way to Texas i noticed everytime id hit a town and have to slow down the bike just felt like it wanted to fall over, the steering was just loose and heavy. it took way to much effort to drive in a straight line i couldnt seem to keep from weaving all over, the bike was never like this...

    Well i decided to double up my slide springs again(using a smaller spring and putting it inside my current springs) and see how it ran... and it was smooth all the way up to 5k with only a few pops, after 5k it kinda stumbled a bit but wasnt bad. Now i dont have much of a topend tho and it feels...

    Okay so after talking to a yamaha mechanic, ive been told my needles arent stock(even tho they are non adjustable) they have Y299 stamped on them and according to yamaha mikuni only put letters on the stock needles.     Well i checked the oil by holding the bike center with my hand and then looked at the site glass and oil was right at the top. The over revving is a possiblity:damn angry: while tuning and testing and having to skip 2nd gear which is not existent ive missed a few times. Havent done a leak down...

    I wish i was on the road but my mids still wont clean up, checked the oil level its right at the top of the sight glass, but i dont think i got any gas past the rings. I even drilled the PAJ2 out just a hair more and im still fighting the mids to run smooth. jus tried shimming my airbox lid...

    so i pulled my airbox lid to do some looking and testing.... and WTF!!!! oil in my airbox?? why??? i mean there was a good amount too probalby a 1/16th of an inch layered over the bottom. Also noticed my slides had an oily kinda film on them when i pulled them... what causes oil to get sucked...

    Just my 2cents but a fella on this forum, went from a kerker 4-2-1 to marks 4-2-1 and made a 10hp gain!! this bike is bone stock too. I saw his dyno print out to prove it:biglaugh: very impressive in my opinion. Marks seems to get alot of good feedback. And after seeing that dyno paper im ready...

    Hmmm i like your setup, well ill probably put the 165 mains back in after my trip, but the 155s work fine for now, after drilling out a spare set of 170s for my PAJ2 drilled out to probably a 175.5 my midrange stumble is slowly getting better so im gunna drill them out just a hair more and see...

    Well actually after pulling the carbs apart the second time i checked all my jets and I made sure i had all the correct and stock jets. I still have the stock 37.5 in there:biglaugh: Since going larger on that jet what do you gain? 42.5 is a bit bigger than 37.5 just curious, now that ive played...
