    Super trapps didn't last long.

The exhaust has landed! Definitely the old style hindle, ceramic coated, and in fair shape. Looking forward to installing it tomorrow.

    Dyna ign. and settings

Mine limits like it should, I shut the fun down at 9500, if I go to the track I will reset for 10,000 to wring out every drop, but day to day with my shift light at 8800 I hope to keep the motor together a nice long time. The Dyna was mostly for missed gear and false neutral over rev...

    Super trapps didn't last long.

Noted - I will let you know if they are going up for sale. They are in nice shape, and sound great. I think I have them sold locally, but if that comes apart, I will shoot you a message.

Looking for any hidden clues about my 89's engine

Definitely keep the high octane in it... you don't want to detonate that thing into oblivion! If you're still pulling hard at an honest 140, you've probably got a pretty strong motor there. I can make the climb to the top of 4th real quick, but then it starts slow up in the 130+ bracket. Of...

    Super trapps didn't last long.

I figured for the price, I can pick it up, try it out, and if I don't it, I can go back to my stock head pipes/super-trapps, and flip it for at least what I paid and my gas money to go pick it up. More likely, it'll free up some ponies, and it'll be staying. Here is a link to the ad, I am...

Looking for any hidden clues about my 89's engine

+2 on the compression, for the difference in performance, and the strength of the '89's power. I wouldn't expect over 200psi, that sounds like a built motor. Must run well!

    Super trapps didn't last long.

I have heard competing opinions on whether or not I will have to loose the center stand. Anybody know 1 way or the other for this particular exhaust?

    Super trapps didn't last long.

Well, I bought some supertrapps this spring from captain Kyle, those didnt last long at all. Friday I am picking up a used holeshot 4 into 1. I got a fantastic deal, so it looks like the supertrapps are out! I think I have a local friend that's gonna buy them, but if not they will be on here...

    Welp....it's for sale

I would have to say that this is one of those to each his own situations. The bagger is pretty cool if that's your thing, definitely an impressive feat given the starting point. It'd one of those "if I have to explain to you why ..... then you'll never get it anyways."

    Clutch whining?

I have a gentle whine from the right side clutch cover area, happens under light accel and decel. Sounds like typical drive-line noise I hear on various bikes, quads, trannys, whatever. I dunno if this is what you're hearing as well, maybe you should grab some video.

Agreed, VMF.net, you rock! By in large the whole reason I got into the Vmax was this forum and the information I was able to find.

    Auto Help

Sounds like a decent sensor. How is the exhaust system otherwise, up-stream of the cat? If you've got any exhaust leaks, those will play absolute havoc with O2 sensors. A little exhaust leak will introduce extra O2 into the exhaust, and throw things off. What is the specific code? (example -...

    Auto Help

+1, you have to have completed a drive cycle and have the obdii tests completed. Did you use a good OE O2 sensor, some times the cheap ones dont work so hot. For a rear sensor, just get an O2 simulator, I have used a few in hot rod toys that don't have cats and they work just fine.

    Welp....it's for sale

A 145 ci big twin doing mid 10s doesn't seem that impressive to me, a well riden max with stock internals could do similarly on its mere 74 ci. A 1500 max would turn 9s built right, and that's only 93 ci. I can see the appeal the big twins have to some folks, but I haven't met any one the...

    Welp....it's for sale

Bummer dude. Sit on the sled till the winter, then get good money for that, and then in the spring make another play at selling the max, and looking for a lightly used Z1k. Maybe you'll have some credit to work with then. Have you considered talking with your own bank, I have had personal...

    Exhaust pop/choke - whistle

I have that in gear under power whistle... just sounds like driveline noise to me, I've heard it on a lot of bikes. I've got a Pontiac Grand Prix GT with a supercharger, and a cold air intake - and that is a whole 'nother kind of whistle there, more like a straight up whine/scream when you bury...

    Supertrapps and the discs

I can make 130 miles on 3.5 gallons, its not the exhaust, something is up.

    Raced my 94 last night

I am sure it probably varies from track to track... I've never tech'd a bike through before, just cars, lots and lots of cars. I will have to call ahead and find out about pants and a tether... like Sean said, I think some of that equipment becomes a requirement as you run faster traps/et's.
