Removing the Star emblem on scoops

Yeah Jan is a good help, Here are some pic's during my emblem replacement, I placed thin pieces of blue painters tape on all 4 edges to give me a good idea where to place it on the back of the emblem it has a arrow pointing up with the word "Top". I tried the fish line to pull under the...

Removing the Star emblem on scoops

I'm halfway done with my emblem replacement and it was so sick how tentative I was to even start this little job. Now that I'm halfway through I'm embarrassed that I made such an issue out of it. Once again my disclaimer I am not a mechanic I just don't want to screw things up, and to many...

Removing the Star emblem on scoops

You got me motivated, I went out and took my seat, faux tank, and finally the right scoop just to replace the emblem. I avoided it cause the damage isn't that much unless you look at the emblem closely. Here see for yourself, here are pic's of the emblem before I remove it tonight and put the...

    Stock Muffler removal / Install

+111 I replaced my stock exhaust on my 07 with a set of 4 into 2 Marks.. Not only easier to install but sounds so much better. The cons are, you most likely will have to do some upgrades on your carbs ( will you do that someday??) now would be the least expensive way to go. Not sure if Marks...

Removing the Star emblem on scoops

No I haven't I ran into the headlight problem for a few days. The emblem is just stretched in the bottom third so it's texture is rough but the normal guy wouldn't even notice it. I've been thinking about it and when I am sure of how I will make sure I get it in the same place etc. I was going...

    Yesterdays outage

Sounds like they were on top of it and got it fixed, the form is working great now with chrome I haven't tried it with Firefox yet but I imagine that's still an issue. On the good side it's a great thing that they didn't lose any data. As others have said thanks a lot for keeping us updated Gary.

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Something I would've never thought of in 100 years. I happen to fall across the forum on V 4 motorcycles, there was a post about a headlight not working. This girl whose name was Atlas 68 said that she was told that the number one golden rule when troubleshooting headlights that don't work is...

    Stock Muffler removal / Install

I've searched for about 30 minutes for a video of a removal of stock exhaust or replacement with aftermarket exhaust hoping they would show removal and install. which ever exhaust you install if you are putting a new exhaust on, be careful not to tighten the flange too tight I did it 2 times...

For a few hours maybe longer I couldn't get the forum to load. I hope it was Gary doing some work on it and not a hack.

Does the Gen 2 have a headlight sensor

Re: Does the Gen 2 have a headlight relay well after 3 night of no sleep trying to search the Internet high and low to find an answer to my headlight not working. At 5:45 AM I ran across a motorcycle forum and this girl named Atlas 68 had a post that said if you ever have a motorcycle and...

Does the Gen 2 have a headlight sensor

Re: Does the Gen 2 have a headlight relay Did you mean did I notice the no headlight before or after my fan mod? To be honest I didn't notice until a year later, I only rode my Vmax one time after buying it last spring. there are lots of reasons, discussed here and other places so excuse...

    V boost control question

I would look into the Morley muscle kit, Once I removed my carbs and sent them to Sean and he installed the kit tested it on one of his Vmax's and when I installed it it took just minor adjustment that Sean walked me through. I'm not sure if Sean has the time to do all that now but always goes...

    IGN switch pinout?

I'm not sure if this is the best manual but I am sure you can find everything in it. http://www.cyberpi.com/images/gen1_service_manual..pdf I think this has several or more than one manual for the gen 1's I hope this is what you were looking for.

Does the Gen 2 have a headlight sensor

Re: Does the Gen 2 have a headlight relay No headlight, no high beam or no low beam, with Vmax on or off. I think I know what happened, last summer I did the fan mod and the relay that I had to tie into was the headlight relay. So it is obvious to me that I screwed something up. I am...

    V boost control question

I'm assuming this is your first Vmax, I am sorry if I am wrong. If I am right and you want the power that the Vmax is known for I highly suggest doing what Fire-medic suggested. There are a few V-Boost devices that let you control when you want the V-Boost to open. I always found on my...

Does the Gen 2 have a headlight sensor

Does the Gen 2 have a headlight relay When I started it up yesterday I noticed that the small light above the headlight was on buy the headlight wasn't. I believe all motorcycles have the headlights always on for safety, I must have a burnt out lightbulb. I hope it isn't something in the wiring.
