    Bike suddenly won't start. Any checklist to follow to troubleshoot?

    Bike doesn't turn at all. Hit the start button nothing happens except headlight goes out and intrument light dim. Release start switch and headlight comes back on. Just got back to work tonight so I will try ground the wire from the starter relay and see what it does.

    I suggest a carb sync. Mine did that. Sync'd the carbs popping went away.

    I don't see why the tabs would have needed to be ground off. I have always worried about lifting the bike with a lift using the exhaust pipes. You don't run in to any issues lifting the bike that way? No stress on the pipes?

    Since this thread is about the center stand and in the general section, figured I would ask my question here. I bought a 88 VMAX from my uncle who also bought it from someone else. So I am at least the 3rd person to own this. Who ever had the bike before my uncle did some pretty crappy stuff...
