    Auxiliary LED lights placement

I'd love to see photos of installed spot and fog lights. I will be using Denali DR1 and D3 fog light, with their Dimm controller. I am thinking about the D3's on the engine guards. The dilemma I am facing is with the DR1's. All on the front end of the bike is tight and covered in the upper area...

LED Replacement headlight, The Biggest, best light spread possible

Why not just installing axillary lights? There are cheap and not bad options. I have one set which cost $40 and is fine. But I am planning on investing in something really bright. When crossing USA I had a few all night rides and you just must have something powerful to see what's ahead of you...

Installed Mosfet SH847 voltage regulator then upgraded to Revolt from RM Stator

Went for a ride. Engine got hot but the Revolt regulator stayed cool. I couldn't actually feel any heat coming from it. 14.3 V under load, 13.1 - 13.2 V idling. It went lower sometimes on idle but these are the normal numbers. Tomorrow replacing the stator - looking forward to see what brand...

Installed Mosfet SH847 voltage regulator then upgraded to Revolt from RM Stator

Had to modify the bracket just a little, move the Denali horn a bit further away as the Revolt is thicker at the edges. Quickly hooked up to test the Voltage before taking the cover off to install the new stator. The Revolt stays cool, I can't really feel any warmth coming from it. Delivers...

Installed Mosfet SH847 voltage regulator then upgraded to Revolt from RM Stator

Replacing this one with Revolt regulator from RM Stator. Just received the package today. New technology, no diodes, 50 A and 500 W. I will go in the same spot as the red one. Went with a fresh stator as well.

New REVOLT Voltage Regulator from RM Stator

RM Stator came up with a new type of regulator, in which they eliminated diodes. According to them, it runs much cooler and is much more reliable - army , racing etc. tested. Still patent pending, so they are a bit secretive about the finer details. I just installed my SH847 from them, but...

Installed Mosfet SH847 voltage regulator then upgraded to Revolt from RM Stator

Just a link to this regulator. (and I don't know why I wrote 50 W - should be 50 Amp so I corrected it; and it is rated 500 W). Series Machined Aluminum Regulator 50amp

Installed Mosfet SH847 voltage regulator then upgraded to Revolt from RM Stator

So finally got it done. Went for a 'display' set up. I think works just great. Not in a way and looks good, making my Max more fancy :D The simple harness I made is in the photo with a SH775 Mosfet (genuine used form Ebay, from Polaris ATV, part #4012941). But the one installed is SH847 (from...

Gas quality and undesirable effects of ethanol fuel blends on a 1st gen VMAX

My contribution to this. I got my 2007 in 2016 - that's 7.5 years ago. Here in Canada, I have always been running 87 Octane with what is written 'up to 10% Ethanol' in it. The carbs bogged up after a while - I wasn't surprised as I had no idea how they were maintained before. I learnt about...

Question/Sanity Checking on Upcoming clutch job.

The carboard method is helpful - no doubt, for any covers. In my case, some years ago, I kicked it by accident and the bolts went flying. So I resorted to sorting the bolts by length and bagging, along with a simple drawing of where goes what. But I gave up on that as well - too many same size...

    Favorite music from your youth

Yeah, hard to put local for some folks here who grew up outside USA and under completely different circumstances, different concepts, and availability. Some things there were non existent while available and not special here. A different values system. What was obscure in North America, was...

    Favorite music from your youth

Hard to pin point any band or a few, and what would be my favorite would often change and rotate. What was a 'favorite' depended on the mood. I have never ever been a what they call 'a fan' of any band. Same with sports teams etc. But here are a few from my youth and young adulthood. Many of...

Cross country routes and places suggestions

Planning for next year - the red markers and orange lines. Start from Seattle, to Ontario. Unfortunately I can't make it now to the Death Valley. I think it is probably better to split the trip into two maybe? Leave the Death Valley for fall next year, and do the rest in summer. Problem is with...

Where would you go, if conditions were right?

From my very limited riding in the USA, I'd suggest Beartooth Highway (after leaving Yellowstone through North-East entrance) and Going to Sun Road, Glacier National Park. Both in Montana. Highway 16A Mt. Rushmore is also great (South Dakota of course). All great for scenery and infinite...

    Change Gen1 Carb Diaphragms

I am surprised by that. I took up this practice based on others, and mine, experience dealing with old bikes, often sitting neglected for not just years but decades. With fuel left in the carbs most of the time, amazing things happen inside the carbs when left like that. Plus of course, when...

    Valve adjustment - when?

Great! Thank you. I have a copy of the manual. But again, as with some other things done on bikes, there are sometimes better easier ways of doing things based on years of practice. In other words, 'by the book' is not always the best. That link to 'how to' is great. Thank you. It should be...

    Valve adjustment - when?

Well, I just better just get to it. I can't fine a walk through in the 'how to guides' on the forum and greater search doesn't lead to anything substantial either. I'm confused watchin Seans video, why the camchain is loose etc. I'm used to simply removing the cover on other bikes and do...

    Valve adjustment - when?

So, got my 2007 Vmax in 2016 with 26k km on it. Now hitting 50k km in 2023. Runs good but not as good as it used to. The only thing is it takes a bit longer to have the smoothness, which is until fully warmed up. And it takes a bit longer to reach stable idle at 1000 rpms after cold start. After...

Mt. St Helens and Mt. Rainier

Just got back from a short trip to Washington. I was lucky to see Mt. Rainier with perfect visibility! Just a day prior to this a couple I met said they went there and literally saw nothing due to bad air quality. I wasn't so lucky with Mt. St Helens - all I could see is the outline but no...
