My '74 360 and paint ideas for my Vmax

Don't forget the wonderful idea of removing any rear suspension. Hard to find a complete XS650. This one had a large luggage rack, functional but I removed it to look more factory. I could have done the paint stripes but they would be over $75 and might be tricky installing. It is interesting to...

My '74 360 and paint ideas for my Vmax

My 1974 CB360 brought back to life. I rattle can painted it original metal flake orange candy. These cans were not cheap but the results turned out great. So nice in fact I am thinking of painting my spare Vmax fenders and air box cover. Only question is, use this same color candy orange or...

    Couldn't resist, '74 CB360

Fire medic that was a really good write about the oil filtering. You are correct, many were neglected, (guilty myself as a kid). I'm planning on the oil filter parts are the first I address. Have to remove the kick start, and footpeg at least. I want to get new side cover bolts before I start...

    Couldn't resist, '74 CB360

Right, sold as a '74. I tell ya, that big ole front drum seems pretty good (as I coasted down the hill to the garage). I would prefer an SL 350 but ya sometimes gotta get what's there. To me the 360's always seemed a little weird. Trying to better the 350 but not much and only around a couple of...

    Couldn't resist, '74 CB360

Not running yet. Tank was sealed some time ago. Petcock leaks and I am going through carbs first thing. Came with another tank (dented) and several other parts. Vin on frame says 1973, so not bad looking for a 50 year old. I took this picture after it's first wash in years. I also plan to remove...

    'Barn find' or backyard find

I got mine from a local Kawasaki dealer that said it came from a Honda warehouse fire. My friend got a Honda V45. What cool looking instrument package with that volt meter in the middle. And the red back light. Too bad it only registered 85 mph! It got scary a few times in a curve, I felt like...

    'Barn find' or backyard find

One of the bikes I should never have sold. Mine was brand new, had been in a warehouse fire in N.Y. Only thing wrong was the pearl white paint blistered and the gauges messed up. Replaced them and had it painted. Paid $1500 for it. Started right up and ran great.

Tennessee bike boneyard, and they're for sale

OK, I have found out some information about this place. I contacted the owners nephew by email, he gave me his phone number and told me to call him today, which I did but he did not answer or return my call. On the email he said his uncle was not " set up like a business" and it was up to him...

    Friend died in car crash

I agree with you VmaXXX. That would be hard to do but that is what they said they wanted to do. Guy will probably be out in a couple of years. He screws that up definitely time for a beat down!

    Friend died in car crash

Imagine my surprise when I found out I was the original poster! Hard to believe 3yrs. Anyway, as hard as it is to believe this; the drunk driver goes to jail and the friends family told him he was on the wrong path. When he gets out of jail contact them and they will pay for tech school and make...

Big plans and problems at a bad time

Fire-medic, I appreciate the help (again). I will use this forum for more research before I order anything. This evening I did about a 10 mile ride and it seems to be running good, but I know if there is a carb problem it will return until it's been taken apart and repaired. Here is a picture...

Big plans and problems at a bad time

Yes the vacuum controlled piston I refered to is part #9. You know how they all move around as you blip the throttle, that one didn't until I checked the fitting of the diaphragm again then it worked as the rest. The fuel bubbling out stopped also. Just while ago I rode about 8 miles and topped...
