I just start mine up with out the choke. Using the throttle to keep it running and then I slowly put the choke on to get it to idle around 1500-2000rpm for a minute or two just like you do. Seems to work for me.

I would do the coils but I would only do one of the front coils and one on the back. This way when you hit the limiter your not cutting out the whole engine.

Yes that is what I'm asking. I guess I needed to be more clear,sorry. The front two down pipes are connected together with a cross over pipe. The rear two do not have this. I want to remove just that cross over pipe.

On my 2000, I have the Holeshot slip-ons but what I would like to do is cut out the cross over pipe that is under the bike. This is the stock exhaust that links the two sides together. This way it would be easier for me to get a better AFR reading from side to side. As it is now it's all hooked...

I'm in Big Lake and always looking for a reason to get out and ride. I've never seen another vmax out in this area.
