Ummm yeah, been there before. In my case, that little fitting was rolling around in the new hose packaging I almost threw into the garbage! Soo glad I looked there before tossing the plastic packaging as I was chasing the leak. The bike was a custom Royal Star I was building in 2008...this bike. :)

To me, that's not a bad color. I think you may find the 150's will be golden to your altitude...especially with OE exhaust. Is it a single UNI filter in the stock air box? If you had a Kerker system, I would definitely say you need to get into the 147.5 range.

Welcome to the forum! Is your Max a 1st Gen or 2nd? Fire-medic, you're right. A Diavel is the best way to cure 1st Gen wobbles. 😁 I also own a 2011 Diavel, a super solid bike in areas where my Max would certainly get squirrely.

IMO, Kerker 4~to~one exhaust is the ONLY exhaust really worthy of a 1st Gen Vmax. :D The only caveat is that you need to lose your original center kickstand mounts. A fast search brings up this for Kerker... :(...

The bars I for sure love for the 1st Gen bikes (and are on my own 1st Gen that I will never sell...we have such a storied history) have been a set of chrome K&N drag bars. I think this link (hopefully) will still land you the bars I have on my bike...

For me, I do welcome the electrified bikes as strong performers. However, labeling an electrified bike a Vmax would to me is as sacrilegious labeling as labeling the new Mustang "Mach-E" as a Mustang. That 4-door thing is NO Mustang! Name the new "E-bike" something else. Name it "Zap-Max" or...

This bike looks incredible! This is the first time I have seen a Vmax platform as a possible cafe racer. The bike pictured here looks like something of a straight up street fighter bike, and totally looks like a riot to ride!

Are you talking about the hand controls, or the forward mounted foot controls on the bike in the photo?

I would also look at a bad sending unit. Or the plug connection at the sending unit.

To me, it looks like the rubbers on the backside of this intake cover...one on each side.

Pilot (idle) jets are plugged, simple as that. Although once you are into the float bowls to clean those, it could easily be as nasty as the pics in this thread.

Thanks for the link, I appreciate it. The taillight is from a Honda V65 Magna. I trimmed off the black outer housing, then modified the V-max bracket & it looks like it was born there! :) I never cared much for the stock V-max taillight. Here's a couple photos from Ebay...
