V boost set up / issue

Hello MM , yes I have checked them following the guide in the workshop manual. Thinking that it may be a loom issue, so I plugged everything in except the lighting / indicators and the oil level switch is permanently on. Removed it and tested that as well and the readings are as described in...

Tested the motor and a spare on the good bike and all works as it should. Removed the inlet manifold and...

Looking good , although I am not a lover of tribal / flames I think they work well in this instance as to have just left it plain would have been a bit plain ( in my humble opinion !!)

    Reasons to remove the clutch?

Hello , the wire fits inside the fly wheel retaining bolt . I believe it acts as an oil thrower so the straight bit goes inside the bolt and the curved bit sticks out . Remember to hold the flywheel on the large "nut" while loosening and tightening the bolt. You should not disturb or dislodge...

New HD Stater Clutch Installed - Does not freewheel

I thought that the workshop manual states the crankshaft should be turned anti clockwise ? maybe try that first . I would also rotate the crank using the larger (32mm?) nut not the centre bolt.

Hello , I have a Gen1 vmax that has been modified. It has Yamaha R1 forks fitted to billet ally yokes , standard R1 blue spot callipers etc so basically an complete R1 front end with billet yokes. I believe a Suzuki GSXR 1000 would also fit with billet yokes. Mine has also had a 17 inch rear...

Hello , if it will start but not run maybe check the fuel tank level and filter for blockage. Check the fuel pump is actually pumping fuel by removing the hose from the pump outlet and fit a pipe to a can then turn on the ignition to see how much fuel it shifts. A quick test for the starter...

Hello , I made the assumption that the cops had been purchased with the plugs / mini loom as part of the kit and not just purchased the cops. The plug / loom can be purchased separately if required . The sets I have seen are advertised on EBAY UK but are manufactured in the USA. His EBAY name is...

    Wi,VMAX89

Hello , My understanding of the situation is as follows. Gen 1 vmax up to 1989 used an analogue control unit so needs resisters fitted to the cops to give the same resistance as the original coils. Without them fitted it is possible to overheat and damage the ECU which will be far more expensive...
