Been going over the Max when I get time and ran across something strange. The right side of the engine, over the clutch? The round cover on the case moves on my bike, spins by hand. This can't be right. Try to take a pic. 1997 model year

I'll check for that color wire. Don't know if a ground would cause it without popping a fuse, but I ain't a wiring guru, lol Pic is of ignition on. Gotta start tracing wire
