i'm not pushing one system over another--am just sharing what worked for me, which was pulling from the inside instead of from the outside (via jaws). if you closely compare the Stinger with the PCW you'll notice that they share a similar "crow's foot" bolt pattern.Ninjaneer, whats the deal with the OTC puller?
Is it special?
"bowed"? what does your puller look like?My puller ain't too bad, but given that it bowed, it isn't good enough. (I used it backwards today and pulled it straight. ha ha ha)
:wacko:I saw the OTC on Amazon for about $85, so it will be pretty expensive for shipping.
Check out these prices in my city http://www.tooltrust.com.au/results.php?keywords=balancer+puller&Submit=Search
$390 for a puller? WTF? :bang head:
you'd definitely get enough pull from thatThe hydraulic crows foot looks like it's winning the race. In my head anyway.
but, rest assured, you'll get it off eventually. it took me i think 5 nights, but i think only because i wasn't using the right tooling. also it took one of the forum experts to show me exactly how much pressure to use (and it is a lot)--prior to his visit i would stop 3 or 4 turns short of the necessary amount out of fear of busting something up on the bike. just get the right tooling (a kick *** puller, grade 8 bolts, and a cheater....or your hydraulic puller)
